people saying that speaking in broken english is racist…
no its just cause grammar is difficult in all languages. cutting out the grammar part and only mentioning relevant words (in this case, "20 mins" and "come back") makes it much easier for both parties to understand. it only becomes racist when you ASSUME the other party has no understanding/ is not fluent in english due to being non-white

The landline is a good idea but highly impractical. What are the chances someone needs to get ahold of you and you be at home? Instead just follow doctors/other ems and get a pager. It'd achieve the same desired outcome and would be easier to make look like a big red button.
