All 379 people aboard a Japan Airlines (JAL) plane escaped the burning airliner after a collision with a Coast Guard aircraft at Tokyo’s Haneda airport that killed five of six crew on the smaller aircraft. ‘Honestly, I felt my life was over. But when I was able to get out of the plane, I felt relieved,’ said Aruto Iwama who was on the burning plane after coming back from visiting his family in Hokkaido, Japan.

I'm so impressed that everyone got off – but having done my junior year of college in Tokyo, not surprised. I'll never forget my first earthquake in the dorm. The Japanese girls made sure I got out.
I'm from the Midwest, where we worry about tornadoes, not earthquakes. Moved to California 40 years ago though, so now I'm accustomed to quakes.
Omg I was in the airport about to board my plane when we were stopped nobody told us why but that must have been scary

All passengers escaped only because those are Japanese people. They always remain cool calm and collective.
If this was an airline in america then no doubt someone will die
No one bothered to try to save the animals in the cargo hold.

Communication needs to be improved between pilots and the control tower universally around the world because of this crash. Don’t tell a pilot to hold short of C5 rather use proper safe universal language of ie. hold short runway 36 aircraft on final. All airports around the world need to use this terminology. KISS. Simple

If this happened in the philippines, everybody would be dead & the airport would be in flames, before anything gets done. I've heard filipinos say, they'd rather people die than be injured. Oh yes, i heard it loud & clear.
Kudos to Airbus for an airplane (on fire) that allowed 18 minutes for the 379 people to escape!

Passenger aircraft entrances and exits are very high off the ground. So if any passenger had jumped off without listening to the crew's instructions, he or she would have died or been seriously injured. There was no trouble other than that kind of fire, too.
so amazed how everyone stayed in their seats and waiting for instructions. Japanese people are really built different
Japanese society : order is first. Result: 379 people survived. I will give my opinion and say this success would not happen anywhere else.
Japanese people obey instructions and understand the importance of it.
That saves their lives.
I am sure same outcome will happen in other parts of the world.
They ll never fly again
