  1. I hope collector plates will make a comeback. Resellers need to make them popular again. Like pottery it’s starting to be popular again because we tell our buyers how rare it is.

  2. I seriously doubt collector plates will return, I believe they were a baby boomer curiosity and also so many pieces were manufactured. Just like everything else, some things like AVON, SARAH Coventry, and I sold both company products. Items become rather boring, as baby boomers age further, we seem to want to downsize or eliminate our collections; let's get real here, contrary to popular belief, Children actually do NOT to be responsible for redistribution of our so called treasures. WORD: Do not pressure your offspring have to deal with your old memories. Every generation has their own Knick-Knacks, and items they loved; look how Beanie Babies took the world by storm at one point, now you can find them for $1.00 or less. Another fad comes out to drown out the old enthusiasm of it's predecessor, with more unique finds. Maybe it's not that unusual that Barbies can be rescued for just a few green backs. Kids are losing interest in them at 7-8 years old. The best thing about this is that the older generation of baby boomers are Again enamored, with this 50's teen idol, the doll seems to look even younger each year. Their faces are no where as stern as the originals which were created in 1958, (I was 8 at that time) arriving on the market in 1959. I think there will always be Teddy Bears, they continue to be a comfort throughout generations to those in nursing homes.

  3. The Swedish wood plate is actually Norwegian. Word for word it translates: Eat, drink and be merry. Thank your God for every day. The pattern is similar to a traditional Norwgian style of painting called Rosemaling. If it says Bergen, that is a large town on the west coast of Norway.

  4. Can't wait to see the other half. So I'm watching one of your other ones I noticed you pass up things with crazing I happen to like it but my sister knows a trick if you take it home you can try it out and use Efferdent denture cleaner and soak it in that and it will make the darkness go away of the crazing. She also cleans stains from doll clothes that way. Just a couple of tips from some Old-Timers LOL

  7. Nauvoo was the town that the "Mormons" established in Missouri when they got forced out of Ohio. Eventually, they got expelled from Missouri and made their way to Utah in 1846-7 in wagons and handcarts. The town of Nauvoo currently has a presence of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with a Temple, restored homes and the graves of Joseph Smith and family. There is a little gift shop there and those bricks probably came from there. Las Vegas, as you probably know, has a large representation of LDS families.
