  1. And here I somehow thought a really well-trained dressage horse must be easier to ride than the untrained naughty ones… but they just have a lot more buttons. Imagine being used to an old car and having to fly a plane now 😀

  2. Meg no offence I think Ottis was like why is this person so short and why do they not know how to do dressage but from my point of view it looked so cool. Love Rich as well he's so funny and tall

  3. You did amazing considering he has so many buttons and rich is Hilarious! You and rich have a good connection you can tell😂but you look so good on bigger horses, if/when you get a new horse you should defo get bigger!!

  4. I have Otis’s twin. My boy is a Sandro Hit-Hohenstein and they could be twins in every way, except Sandro is not GP. Exact same way of moving in the trot and canter. Powerful horses but with a slow hind leg. You did a fantastic job as these are not easy horses to ride. It only took me 12 years to learn the buttons. Once he is on the hind leg and thru he is so much fun to ride. And of course passage is a walk in the park….forward trot was the challenge earlier on. I learn now to passage but not stay in it too long and trot forward and then back in passage. You could learn so much from this horse. And your instructor has done a fantastic job with him and is a lovely rider. You are a very lucky lady. ❤

  7. DANG GIRL! It must have felt incredible up there! My old dressage trainer would put me on some nice horses and train me very similar to how Rich does. Clicking on beat, giving me seemingly endless commands. So I know that exact feeling of when you finally “get it” and they start moving beautifully. I can’t imagine how that felt on such a high-level horse! They definitely have so many buttons, you did beautifully! Good job for climbing on up and tackling that huge guy all while wearing a smile!

  8. Yes, dressage sport horses with high training are quite hard to ride. I've ridden an M and S dressage horse. I had no problems with the S horse, but he did flying changes all the time and i had no idea why. The other one i couldn't even canter. He just didn't understand what i wanted from him.

  10. Tired of seeing dressage horses with their head so far behind the vertical (he rode the horse with the head to far behind the vertical). Just appears to be the standard these days. I happen to think she rode him much better. His head was at the vertical and he didn't appear to lose a lot of roundness. The instructor is humorous and patient which I appreciate. I think you rode that horse brilliantly. It sure is different when you ride something with LOTS OF POWER.
