I Bought These Tires on Amazon – Winter Van Life

Van Life Essentials: Many people ask me what tires I buy and here they are!
When you are living in a van, car or RV the most important item you own are your tires!
Your tires are the ONLY thing between you and road so make sure you are taking care of your tires and checking them regularly! These tires have an All-Season Commercial Traction and are designed for rough terrain, including rocks and gravel, but also have great on-road performance. The tread design helps to prevent stone retention.

You can find your size tire here on the link below and order them on Amazon!

You can order these tires on Amazon and recieve them at any mail forwarder where you can then pick them up in person and take them to any tire center to be put on. Or you can go to a Discount Tire Center and purchase them there. I have been going to Discount Tires for years and they always do a great job putting on my tires!

  1. I really like Discount Tire, are used to work there when I was about 19 or 20, then a lifelong customer, and I really like the road hazard warranty. You can purchase on the tires so that if anything happens to them, they replace them for free you only need to re-purchase the warranty on the replacement tire, they may let you purchase the road hazard warranty on those tires since they are brand new. The only thing that might not apply is the prorated warranty on the mileage for replacement.

  2. About a decade and a half ago, actually closer to two decades :), I was driving a road trip from AZ up to WA for a friend's wedding. On the way back, on the outskirts of Sacramento, I had a blowout while I was in the left lane of I5 in heavy traffic. I was able to pull onto leftside shoulder without incident, but now we were stuck on the wrong side of heavy traffic. Luckily, at that spot there was a very wide shoulder, so we were relatively safe, but my spare, full at the beginning of the trip, was flat also. We used the first cell phone we had ever owned (my wife bought just before this trip, kinda for the trip) to call American Tire (Discount Tire in NV and AZ). The manager actually, processed our purchase over the phone, loaded two new tires, mounted on inexpensive rims until I could get them switched to my good rims, in his personal vehicle, drove out to where we were on the interstate, and hand delivered the tires so I could change the blown tire and have a spare for future use. I have used Discount/American Tires ever since.

  3. My BIL clears our driveway with a tractor, often just shoving the mud and branches to the side of the narrow road. Four sidewall tears in 5 years on three different vehicles just from sharp branches buried in mud and sticking out of the side of the road. Stuff happens. Always have a full size spare!

  4. These are the exact same tires I have on my 03 tacoma and I really like them. 265/75/16 I think. Which is equivalent to a 32 inch tire. Deep tread, not too loud on the highway, and e-rated or 10 ply sidewall if I remember right. I'm on my second set after getting over 50,000 over 4 years on the first set. Lots of highway and off road travel and a decent amount of it over sharp rocks. 4 years ago I paid 870 but I just recently replaced them and now had to spend 1270 for all four

  5. Here in the KC Mo area, I've bought several tires from Tredz Central. I literally meet the truck at the Flying J truck stop out by the dumpster to pick up the tires. Ha. I call it a drug deal gone bad!! Anyway I've used them for the hard to find sizes of farm implement tires. During Covid my regular tire guy was having trouble ordering stuff for all my "vintage" grain trucks that I still use, and that's when I found these guys. Ya know Bob is a real man now. Only men get excited when they put new skins on their trucks!! Ha!!

  6. I got tires for my ambulance last summer. When I got my ambulance, the tires looked great. But, the date code was 12 years old. I never checked that upon purchasing the ambulance.

    They wouldn’t have lasted long……..

Get those lug nuts re-torqued after a few miles !!
