I have been out of the snowmobiling thing for 15 years but damn! you used to be able to look at A sled flying by and know if it was A Polaris, Arctic cat, Skidoo or Yamaha. Now days they look the same to me.

Sucks ur having problems with ur new cat. But its not like Polaris hasn’t had a million recalls over the years. Iv been riding and racing sleds for 40 years in now 45. Iv owned every brand over the year Been riding manly cats since 2003 been great sleds. Raced SX and pro XC 15 years on cats toughest sleds on the race track. Many wins and championships i broke not enough parts to mention.

I am told that the pinging noise you hear at 6500 rpm Is the ypipe spring to pipe. Vibrates on the steering post. Has not happened on my M858 146
There is also a reflash on ecu for serial # prior to 104450
Cats always overheat, even with scratchers and a decent amount of snow on packed trails up the mountain I've always had to stop a few times due to overheating issues. Best for pow days haha or just avoiding trails in general.
Dont buy Arctic Scrap. Polaris or BRP, nothing else.

Rattle sounds like the starter rope sheave pawls zinging on the inner hub of the flywheel. Just a guess but an educated one from experience lol.

Sounds like your pull cord is too tight
For the ticking noise, check your pull start, i had a sled do the same thing come to find out the starter pin use to pop out n hit the start cup and make that ticking noise

That sound reminds me of when I would tape a card to my bike spokes so that I sounded cool in the neighborhood.
How about a breakdown of the sled's specifications at the start of the video? What are we dealing with here? And what are the other guys riding, by comparison? If you're gonna shake it down, I think you should break it down first. Awesome riding skill by the group, for sure.
15 dimes for a new sled? There's no excuse for issues out of the box….
I had a similar pinging sound when I twisted the bulkhead on my Axys 800. Could have been coming from the primary clutch or the three broken motor mounts…

Pull cord recoil or exhaust spring gets harmonics for sure fpr the noise
How does cat manage to make a brand new 858 sound identical to my stock 06 sabercat 500
So I’ve been a skidoo guy forever but switched to a Polaris. Never really saw cat as much of a competitor in the back country world, nor have I ever really been a cat fan. But this new chassis has me excited to see another manufacturer jump in the ring and really go up against skidoo and Polaris. We need the competition to keep pushing these manufacturers. And I gotta say cat killed it with overall looks of this new chassis. Really hope the kinks get worked out and it becomes another great option

the new cat with its overheating might just be perfect for northern Scandinavia where itll range from -10 to -38 degrees celsius (14 to -36 farenheit)
That jingle is the exhaust spring coming out of the heads, there is a silicone grommet that comes out in the spring
