I Bought a BROKEN Xbox 360 from Goodwill… can I fix it??

Another day, another untested Xbox 360 from Goodwill! At least this one came with the box (although it is missing some stuff). But for $30? Not too bad. Let’s see if I can fix it!

  1. I replaced my Jasper fat to the S Trinity model a few years ago. I managed to find one (console only) on eBay in decent exterior condition for £30. It just looks so much nicer from an aesthetic point and it's much quieter.

The first thing I did upon it being delivered, was clean it out internally. It was filthy inside of it. It made me sneeze when I exposed the metal chassis. It clearly had never been opened prior to me doing so.

  2. Funny you're talking about 360 Slim , I actually have an extra one sitting around with a broken disc drive, and then I have one that I actually use. I was just thinking about trying to repair it, so maybe I can do that at some point. I also have an original box, and all original parts (I think). Maybe I should actually get that done soon, I don't know, I've never actually done a full console repair before.

  3. Have you evet opened up a 360 E model?

For those that don't know, that's the version that came after the slim (or S) model, and took out the multi-AV port for a different AV jack that I think only supported composite, not component or VGA or S-video or whatever else, but by that time HDMI was the main connection people were using. Also it was made to look more similar in case design to the XB One.

  4. Might be my old slim lmao. I had that exact hard drive and it fucked my shit up all those years ago, left it in, wiped the console, sold it to some kid for $100. Little dude biked home with it over 2 miles 😂

  5. I work at GameStop (one of the few honest and good ones) and a guy overheard me talking to my co-worker about how I’ve been working on repairing my old 360s, and he gave me his! It’s a little worse for wear than mine but it works better than mine!

  6. My buddy gave me what turned out to be a Jasper XBOX 360 for free, no power brick and no one had used it in over 10 years. It’s one of my most prized possessions now, works beautifully and it just needed a little TLC.

  7. I got an Xbox 360 slim for free from a coworker! She told me about how they couldn't get it to play a game or something and offered it to me. It works perfectly fine, I have hours played on it with no issue lol. It was a 4gb core model though so maybe they were trying to play og Xbox games? No clue. But it's basically brand new. It has to be one of the last run models lol
