This beautiful, reflective piece – composed by Liz Lane – portrays hope in the midst of the bleak scenario of the Korean War. Features lyrical soloists throughout and an offstage Last Post ending for cornet.
Commissioned by Forest Musical Landscape, a part of the Foresters’ Forest Landscape partnership project, and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin River, Korea, 1951. First performed by the Royal Forest of Dean Orchestra, conductor Fiona Crawley.
