‘Hurt!’ How has Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netflix show impacted Royals? | Palace Confidential? Despite the barbs and criticisms aimed at the Royal Family in the Netflix series Harry and Meghan, the King has so far decided to keep his counsel, but will that change once Harry’s book comes out? The Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English says the Palace are determined not to be drawn ‘into a constant tit-for-tat’ over the matter, but that it must be putting a strain on the monarch. ‘The King has made a very conscious decision that this is his son, he loves him,’ she tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential. ‘He’s not going to respond and the door is always there and is open for him, but you’ve got to ask yourself: how much can one man take?’

She also looks at the fallout between the once inseparable William and Harry and says, despite everything, insiders believe there still could be a rapprochement, albeit a long way off.
‘One person, earlier on this year said to me, “I can’t believe, given how close they were as brothers that William would ever completely close that door on his brother – they’ve been through too much. And they could see a time in the future… that there is some kind of rapprochement or dialogue”,’ she adds. ‘Based on what we’ve seen over the last few weeks and what’s still to come, I think we are talking about the distant future for that.’

  1. How ridiculous can Harry be… change the UK monarchy??? The most famous in the word? How far does he want to go , supposedly they didn’t like the papparazi yet it gets worse and worse as they splash their ‘unfortunate’ lives… 😩😞

  2. Jo, could you share in your news program an explanation of “Curtsy Protocol.? During the Coronation of KC Will Princess Anne then have to curtsy to Camilla? Kate already curtsied to Camilla at the Christmas gathering. I read Fergie in an effort to nit leave anyone out she curtsied to everyone.😳

  3. He didn't fall in love It was her trick to make him love her or lust, remember she is an old hooker, slept with every old producer/director to get a piece in a film, when she told someone she said I need to marry a rich guy, she has no idea what love is? It's all money for her!

  4. Would William have said the American first amendment was bonkers after admitting he's never red it?
Even if William was the spare,he wouldn't have done what Harry has done to his family.
Sadly Harry lacks sound judgement and is tone deaf.
Loose lips sink ships,he doesn't seem to understand that there are matters that should be kept private

  5. Re Lady Susan and Marlene: Lady S is looking kindly at Marlene, while Marlene, a’la Meghan Markle, is gazing straight into the camera looking like the cat who ate the canary. I sincerely hope that Lady Susan will once again be involved in all Palace events; she has earned that. Hello from California. ❤

  6. Enough on Harry and Meghan they should not be covered and people should stop feeding into their deceit and lies. He is nothing like what his mom or grandparents would want for him. Prince William should be the King he is stronger, smart , loved by the people .

  7. An apology would be devastating. An apology would state that what Meghan and Harry were saying was all true! I pray there never needs to be an apology! As far as many are concerned their facts are not facts! Every child can blame their unhappiness on their parent! Harry needs to take accountability for his own happiness!

  8. I find it mildly amusing that Prince Andrew is so very concerned about security when, according to former security personnel, Prince Andrew himself put himself in jeopardy by allowing women to enter despite being advised otherwise. Apparently Harry and Megan aren't the only hypocrites regarding security issues.

  9. This is getting tedious. Every adult who has an extended family has relationships that are sometimes happy and sometimes strained, but emotionally healthy people choose to look ahead rather than perpetually looking back. For the Sussexes, why not buckle down, look forward, and dedicate themselves to the steady, admittedly boring work of helping charities? They have a phenomenal opportunity opportunity to gather the resources of the rich and powerful to promote any good work of their choice. Sooner or later they will have to come to the reaization that nobody wants to listen to it any more. They didn't want to be working royals, and if that is their choice, more power to them, but get on with it and stop harking back and harping upon slights and look to the future.

  10. Enough already!!! It's past time for Megain and Hissy fit to put on their big boy pants and grow up. After 40 years and almost for him your need to act like a spoiled brat should be in your past. Next they will have their diapers changed and dinner fixed by the children. Then take them to court for not doing it correctly. None of the complaints come close to the lives of people I personally know that have become better and stronger in adulthood. They have yet become adults.

  11. At least H and M are off British tax payers ‘ backs…..aren’t you guys happy? You guys will be continuing to pay the royal family for their expenses for the rest your and their lives. Good on you 😂😂

  12. The docuseries on Netflix brought clarity. H&M would not have done it if they had been treated with respect by the British media. Of course, the same media and all those behind their ordeal are going to criticise them for sharing their story on Netflix. It's obvious! I watched every episode and clearly they just want to live peacefully without the constant harassment by paparazzi and humiliation on the tabloids and on social media. I do not blame H&M for making money thanks to their docuseries. We all know how tabloids make money and I would rather watch Netflix than buy those dirty papers.

  13. It's all such a shame ! How can one person come in and destroy a family in 18 months ? Think about it chroniclogically ! We never heard things like this only the good stuff including Harry ! He was a wonderful person until someone cleverly tapped into Harry soul ! Like I said it's a shame !

  14. Oh, so they all were sitting in front of the television. Waiting to see what they’re gonna say, and it’s called the truth. But that roll family just keep their blinders right on rolling. They know the truth, I don’t need to comment because I know it’s the truth everything in that movie you can look at the body language etc. nobody in their telling a lie.

  15. Is interesting how they are now saying that even though Andrew is not longer a working Royal the institution will consider keeping for him some security because he is a former royal and is a high profile…. But didn’t have the same consideration for Harry and his family.
Can somebody explain the contradiction or the difference between one ex royal and the other???

  16. Was low in what way

did you ask her if she was mobile because of the fact that Harry was sad and had to be put through so much mess? Cause I don’t hear anybody saying her exact words that are recorded that she was upset because of anything else the treatment.

  17. Shame, Williams may wait until his father is dead, before he comes out and just truly be honest with his brother. He knows the truth. everybody needs to stop putting the word twisting it. Unless you hear the words come straight from the mouth, not written by the palace, but his honest words

  18. "…will she get her job back…"
The palace wants to draw a line under the whole race row? If so, giving that woman her job back would be horrific giving what she did. It would be a direct slap in the face of any person of color. That woman didn't get that old, or that unwise, doing those sorts of things without feeling that she would be comfortable protected by the palace (IMHO, of course). She did apologize, yes. BUT Apologies-Under-Pressure are never genuine and seldom result in the Apologists changing their normal behaviors or beliefs. Don't think I'm correct about that? Visit any prison anywhere… they'll all say they're sorry if it leads to their paroled release. I believe the woman was a racist then, beforehand, and mostly is still …just not as publicly now.

  19. I am so glad that the Queen is not here to see all this nonsense. Where is the respect? I lost my father at 10 and I managed to survive because like Harry, I had a loving family around me to support me. Grow up lad! Get shot of the worm in your ear! Stop trying to keep yourselves in the public eye. Remember you have stepped out of it (or that was your wish) now you can't wait for publicity. Not a good move. Live a happy life with your wife and children as should be the case. Thankful for a dignity from the Royal Family. Whether you like them or not.

  20. Harry needs to grow up. Megan will be tired of him when his money runs out. Money and power is all that matters to her. Harry made a huge mistake giving in to her demands. He needs to stand up and be the man in the family. She'll run over him if he doesn't put her in her place.

  21. It’s sickening to watch all this criticism about the Sussex and their income. What do you expect them to do for their own security?? Their protection? Why don’t you consider what it would cost them to have security? How would they make millions that would cost to do that on their own, when they are left to their own devices? Come on people.

  22. The King was either a bad father who raised a child whose upbringing left him damaged. Or a good father who raised a child who had a happy childhood, as Harry reported. You can’t have it both ways.
