Hunters Rescue Distressed Deer Trapped in Rope Swing

Three Ohio hunters rescued a deer in distress. The animal’s antlers were caught in a rope attached to a tree. The deer frantically tried to free himself as it swung back and forth. The hunters came up with a strategy to tire out the deer so they could help rescue the animal. Turns out, one of the hunters is also a wrestler and puts the deer in a “tight waist.” Within seconds, the deer was set free and ran away.

  1. Would shooting the deer in this situation violate any local hunting laws? The hunters did not set up the swing. It was already there, so it is technically not a trap. They didn't say whether this occurred during hunting season.
