There might be a bigger picture we aren't seeing yet. Putin may be trying to cut all ties with the west, no airliners, no business, no trade, nothing, nada. Then he and the Chinese can form their own world, their own universe, so to speak. It all boils down to a choice between controlled CLOSED societies and democratic OPEN societies. Maybe "communism" is gone, but the idea of people control, thought control, absolute control still remains. And THAT may be what putin is really after.
They have plenty of planes to use for parts no problem for them, they might return them when they get there super yachts back
