Very cool. The old lead-based minis are such better quality than what they make today. I'm too novice of a painter to give any advice, but James Wappel is the name of a YouTube channel and mini painter, who happens to be the best I've ever seen at it. You can check out his channel for expert tips. I bet that piece would look amazing after it's put together and painted. Cheers!
