Who writes poorly written, overwrought dreck this bad?
Interesting premise. Better than recent stories. Some parts are pretty silly or implausible (why fight the giant queen in a hand to hand duel rather than just shoot her like Indiana Jones?) but interesting nonetheless. The endless post-climax conclusion was unnecessary.
The illustration of the goofy dude with a trophy was better than the animation playing during the story.
Marcus Aurelius? Interesting. I see Roman history is alive and well in the future.
Much better plotline: and smart. The FIRST ship to arrive would get the prize, BUT the ones behind it would join the battle. And since they were all uncoordinated as a whole, their tactics would be unpredictable to the Invaders.
What the Hive doesn't get, is that a war of extermination is the ultimate contest. And the loot and plunder salvaged from the vanquished would be incalculable. If this is what the humans did with a simple contest of "get there first", imagine what would happen in a no holds barred winner take all war of extermination?
The Hive are about to become extinct. They just don't know it yet.

As always, a fine job on the narration. That said, several parts of the story were redundant and unneccesary to the story arc. Good premise, but re-reading the same passage with different phrashing for playtime seems like the pinnicale of lazy writing.
Why would a ship's captain be part of the ground assault? Would a gunnery sergeant be plotting navigation?
I swear everytime i hear the Word "Determination" in these Videos i twitch. All the AI stories like to repeat that Word at least 20 times in a 5 minute Story. The Word Repetition hurts.
This was a good one though.
