Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
————–

This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
————-
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
————-
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don’t always put a positive spin on humanshumanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

  1. Manhole cover? The United States was doing underground nuclear bomb testing. They had a manhole cover on one test bomb. High speed cameras caught a manhole cover being launched into space.

  2. Humans introduced the notion of shaking hands with an entity known as "Danger."

Whatever this entity is, it is a mortal threat to the entire species. Some humans seek a sort of metaphysical interaction with it through unnecessary risks in the name of personal thrill. Others, however spend their lives creating an intricate pictographic language designed to keep their fellow sapients as far from this "Danger" as possible.

No matter how the deathworlders view it, all of them are fully aware of it even if none of them can describe it's physical attributes, the sound of its voice or other characteristics. Perhaps the humans have developed a kind of sixth sense that allows them to perceive this threatening yet invisible adversary that has put their existence at risk since they lived in caves and fought with rocks and sticks.

  3. In the second story, one of the few terrifying things in XCOM, multiple flavors of aliens and while it doesn't happen to the player, their equipment supposedly explodes upon contact with a non allied person, which, I'd expect that the body should have had as well to trigger upon full termination, that it basically would cook in its armor and detonate all remaining explosives inwards if you are invading an enemy and don't want them having your tech or anything on you
