HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don’t always put a positive spin on humanshumanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

  1. I can totally see this happening to some poor, unsuspecting necromancer thousands of years from now. Poor fellow, he never knew what hit him. Of course, if he whomps up an 'Eddie' spell now, that might change things a bit.

    A: "I am the necromancer who raise you! You must listen to me!"
    S1: "Why should we?"
    S3: "Yeah, you're harshin' our vibes here, man."
    S2: "Why'd you even raise us from the dead, anyway? What's your angle?"
    A: "To use you as an army of the dead to conquer the galaxy and bring a new age of death and unlife over the so-called 'civilized' worlds!"
    S1: "…So lemme get this straight; you got this magic stuff that can do all sorts of neat things, and you want fragile skeletons?"
    S2: "Gary's right, you're just sinking energy and time into us when you could be bending the fabric of reality some other, more efficient way."
    A: "E…. efficient?"
    S2: "Sure. I mean, all this energy to reanimate us, when you could just, yanno, dig up some gems, or turn lead into gold, or something, and buy your way though life."
    S1: "Or just apply magic more directly."
    A: "Well… You see…" [coughs] "This is just… better, yanno?"
    S3: "Ooohhh, I get it now: you're a goth!"
    A: "What?"
    S1: "Oooh, yeah! I see it now!
    S2: "Mystery solved, boys."
    A: "What's a goth?"
    [Time Passes]
    Alien: "…Oh Piss off!" [Teleports]
    S2: "…So, now what?"
    S1: "…Wanna go find that skeleton from the other army and play baseball with his skull and femurs?"
