ALLAH
Allah, is an Arabic word, is the unique name of God. Muslims prefer to use Allah rather than God. Allah is the only God, all-powerful and all-knowing creator, sustainer, ordainer and judge of the universe. He is unique (wahid) and inherently one (ahad), all-merciful and omnipotent.
Muslim's belief on Allah Almighty:
1. Allah is One and Only Creator, Sustainer, The Beginning-less, The Endless
Muslim's fundamental belief is that God is one who is the only creator, sustainer, protector. Allah has not begotten any children and He was not begotten by anyone.
Allah says in Al Quran about him:
(O Esteemed Messenger!) Proclaim: ‘He is Allah, Who is the One. Allah is the Transcendent of all, the Protector and Far-Superior to all. He has not begotten any, nor is He begotten. Nor is there anyone equal to Him.’
(Al Quran 112: 1-4)
2. Allah is formless and does not resemble anything
It is the fundamental belief of the Muslims that Allah does not resemble anything. He does not have body, face, hands, legs or any other parts. But He sees without the eyes. He hears without the ears. He exists without a place.
According to Al Quran,
"No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. God is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things" (Al Quran 6:103)
3. Allah is the one and only creator and sustainer
Muslims believe that Allah created whole universe and the creature by his sheer command “Kun” means “Be”.
According to Al Quran,
“(He is the) Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decides a matter, He simply says to it: “Be”, and it comes to be.” (Al Quran 2: 117)
Further Allah says that the purpose of human creation is to worship him.
“I did not create the Jinns and the human beings except for the purpose that they should worship Me.” (Al Quran 51: 56)

INTRODUCTION TO ISLAM
WHAT IS ISLAM?
Islam, the word has two meanings:
1. Peace
2. Submission
Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one's life in this world and the hereafter by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart, soul and deed. It means voluntary surrender to the Will of Allah and obedience to His commands. Allah, also, an Arabic word, is the unique name of God. Muslims prefer to use Allah rather than God.
Further Islam is not just a religion. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100 percent system of life. It teaches every aspects of life such as legal, political, economic, social and family life.
WHO IS A MUSLIM?
A person who believes in and consciously follows Islam, i.e. believe in Allah, the one God and follow his messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him), is called Muslim.
The word Muslim also came from the same root word. So, the religion is called "Islam," and a person who believes in and follows it is a "Muslim."
IS ISLAM A NEW RELIGION?
No. some might think that Islam is a new religion which was started with the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). That is wrong. According to Islam, Allah Almighty created Adam (Peace be upon him), the first man, and he was a Prophet. The fundamental message what he propagated to his nation was the same as of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). That is, do not worship anything except Allah Almighty. Obey to his commands, etc. The same message was propagated by each prophets who were sent before to the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). However, the divine law and instructions revealed to each prophet and each nation were different. Each prophet was sent with the divine law or instructions to a particular nation. It was not valid to other nations or other generations. However, the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the last messenger and seal of the all the prophets. Allah Almighty completed the Religion of Islam through him. Al Quran, the final scripture which was revealed to the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has the complete set of instructions to whole mankind until the Day of Judgment.
Accordingly, Islam is the complete religion which testifies all the previous prophets and believes in one God Almighty

PROPHETS & MESSENGERS
Allah created the mankind and sent the prophets to every nation throughout the history to show the straight path to the mankind. They were sent with the message of Allah and showed mankind the right path that will lead them to Paradise and to salvation from Hell-fire. All the Prophets preached to their people about the message of Islam; i.e. Allah Almighty is the one and only God and submission to the will of God.
Each prophets were sent only for their respective nation except the last prophet, beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was sent to the entire world. The Holy Quran, the scripture which was revealed to him, is also Almighty's last testament and it is the message for whole world.
Each Prophets taught their nation about the Oneness of Allah, power of Allah, what are the halal (permissible) and what are the haram (sinful) in the religion of Allah.
It is the Islamic belief that the first human Adam (Peace be upon him) is the first Prophet and beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the final Prophet. It is said that Allah has sent almost 124,000 Prophets to the entire world. However, 25 names of Prophets have been mentioned in Al Quran.

Difference between Prophets (Nabi) and Messengers (Rasool)
Messengers are the Prophets, but they were sent with new scriptures or new divine law to propagate to their nation while Prophets taught the previous established teachings to their nation. Hence, all the Messengers are the Prophets. But all the Prophets are not Messengers. It is said that Allah has sent about 124,000 prophets to entire world thought out the history but out of them only 313 are messengers.
The Messengers are ranked more than the Prophets. The best of them are called, Ulul 'Azm (Possessors of strong will and perseverance), in patience and enduring difficulties, who are five :
1. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)
2. Prophet Eissa (Jesus) (Peace be upon him)
3. Prophet Musa (Moses) (Peace be upon him)
4. Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) (Peace be upon him)
5. Prophet Nuh (Noah) (Peace be upon him)
Some scholars consider Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) is one of them, hence Ulul Azms are six. However, majority of scholars consider as five as stated above.
The Scriptures and the Prophets
Islam tells us that four scriptures were sent to four Messengers of Allah. Those are :
1. Tawrat to Prophet Musa (Moses) (Peace be upon him)
2. Zabur to Prophet Dawud (David) (Peace be upon him)
3. Injil to Prophet Eissa (Jesus) (Peace be upon him)
4. Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)

WHO IS AWLIYA?
Awliya Allah or Waliyullah literally means friend of Allah.
Awliya are the pious people those who obeyed and followed the orders of Allah Almighty and sunnat of beloved Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam in every aspects of their life and finally were pleased and accepted by Allah Almighty.
A Wali is someone who occupies a very close station to Allah and is protected by Allah from major sins and repetition of sins in general, and kept in a state of obedience. It is a very special rank and position of acceptance given by Allah to His beloved servants.
When we call Awliya or Waliyullah, it includes whole Noble Sahaba (the companions of beloved Prophet ﷺ, Tabi'een, Tab al tabi'een, Imams and other Awliya.
However, when people used to speak they call sahaba in their unique name. Since it is the noble status in Islam. Hence, commonly we say waliyullah for Tabi'een, Tab al tabi'een, Imams and other Awliya.
THE STATUS OF AWLIYA
It is the common Islamic theology that the status of all the noble sahaba is much higher than that of all Awliya Allah. Likewise, the status of all Awliya is higher than that of ours.
AWLIYA IN AL QURAN
♦ Beware! Verily, the friends of Allah will not have any fear, nor will they grieve. (10:62)
Awliya will never worry for anything if anything happened that they disliked. Also they will never fear for the future on worldly matters. But they will always be remained in God-fearing.
AWLIYA IN AL HADITH
♦ Allah's Apostle ﷺ said:
"Allah said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a Wali of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him"
Narrated by : Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu Anhu
Book : Sahih al Bukhari 8:76:509
This is a powerful and profound Hadith Qudsi in which Allah informs and invites us to be among His friends and allies. It undoubtedly demonstrates the reality and existence and nature of these Awliya (Intimate Friends of Allah), and so no one has the right to deny their existence and special distinction after this knowledge has come to them.
It tells us:
1. Showing enmity to the friends of Allah is among the major sins.
2. Affirming that there are Awliya Allah among His slaves. This cannot be denied.
3. Affirming that Allah loves and that this is one of His attributes.
4. That pious deeds drives one closer to Allah. This is experienced by anyone who performs righteous actions.
5. When Allah loves a person He gives him spiritual and physical strength.
6. When Allah loves a person He answers his prayers.
7. Affirming that Karamat (mini miracles) are real and only pious people have the potential to experience them if Allah so wills.
8. All believers have the capacity and ability to become the Awliya Allah.
HIERARCHY OF AWLIYA
Hafiz Sakhawi in his Maqasid al-Hasana (p. 10 #8) and Hafiz Suyuti in his Hawi lil Fatawi (2:250-51) state that Ibn ‘Asakir (Tarikh Dimashq 1:300) and Hafiz al-Khatib (Tarikh Baghdad 3:75-76) both relate that Abu Bakr al-Kattani said:
The Nuqaba are 300, the Nujaba are 70, the Abdal are 40, the Akhyar are 7, the ‘Umud (supports) are 4, and the Ghawth is 1. So the dwelling of the Nuqaba are in the Maghrib, the Nujaba in Egypt, the Abdal in Sham, the Akhyar travel throughout the Earth, the ‘Umud are in the corners of the Earth, and the Ghawth is in Makka. So when a need arises among the commonality, the Nuqaba plead to Allah to fulfil it, then the Nujaba, then the Abdal, then the Akhyar, then the ‘Umud, and if they are answered by Allah (it stops with them), and if not, then the Ghawth pleads, and he does not complete his request until it is answered.
WHAT IS KARAMAT?
Karamat are the miracles that performed by Awliya with the blessings of Allah Almighty.
It is the belief of Islam that the Prophets have miracles which is called as mu’jizat, among which is included knowledge of the Unseen continually bestowed to them by Allah.
It is also the doctrine of Islam that the Awliya have miracles which is called as karamat, that they received from Allah, among which is “Kashf” (unveiling/perception of the unseen).
The fact that the Awliya have knowledge of the Unseen (and other miraculous abilities) is attested to by the Qur’an and Sunna and the experience of the righteous Muslims throughout the centuries of the history of Islam, and does not constitute, as some misguided Muslims claim, kufr or shirk.
Proof from the Quran
♣ The Wali who was with Sayyidina Sulayman (Alaihissalam) brought him the throne of Bilqis quicker than the blink of an eye. He was characterized as "one who had knowledge of the Book," as Allah stated,
"One with whom was knowledge of the Book said, 'I will bring it to you before your gaze returns to you…' (Q27:40)",
and this is Asif bin Barkhiya (a non-prophet human), the scribe and relative of Prophet Sulayman (Alaihissalam), according to the Tafsir of Ibn ‘Abbas and the majority of commentators.
Proof from the Hadith
♣ Harith ibn Malik al-Ansari passed by the Prophet ﷺ who asked him, “How are you this morning, O Harith?” and he replied, “This morning I am a true believer in Allah.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Take care of what you say, for everything has a proof to it, so what is the proof of your belief?” He said: “I have turned myself away from this world by keeping awake at night and staying thirsty by day; and I can almost see the Throne of my Lord in full view before me, and I can see the people of the Garden visiting each other, and the people of the Fire wailing to each other.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “O Harith! You have realized (the truth), therefore cling to it.” Some versions add, “(This is) a believer whose heart Allah has illumined.”
