Today I found out something insane on the PTR that’s going to change the trophy material system forever.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: on the PTR update from last night, apparently this changed and now it may now drop trophy mats. We’ll have to see how it is when it goes live but starting about 15 hours ago this information may not be accurate anymore. I’m investigating and may make another video.
Update on xp cost of to get packages of specialized furnishing materials:

The New World PTR changes in December have changed a lot about the game. Because of this it turns out trophy material generation will never be the same.
Now there’s another way to get precision armoring tools, armorer’s journal, forgemasters notes and so on. Because of this I expect the prices will change for them as well as certain other materials.
What you do with this information is up to you, but I want to make sure that you’re aware of what’s about to happen when the PTR goes live in New World.

People are forgetting how much xp it will actually take to earn these crates. Yes it's cool, but unless they reduce the cost needed for these, the millions of xp will take more gold then you will make or will take days apon days of grinding the mats. At least on el dorado no trophy is more than 15k right now.

Please make sure you check the xp values from NWDB. it does say how much you need actually. Furnishing full level is 1 984 000xp atm. so you would have to make 1476 mahogany stains. which would take 14 760 pure solvent. so even on your server, you are looking at like 7380 coin excl taxes on solvent only. oil at current prices on your server for 1 level would make it 4959coin excl taxes. so to get 1 epic and 1 legendary trophy mat would take 12 339 coin at minimal prices on buy orders on your server and given your video and other people trying to power level, the prices will increase. the prices of legendary trophy mats are also heavily inflated on your server. most are currently selling for under 10k on my server atm. so if trophies sell for that much it would make you a net profit, but on my server, i would lose more than 3 times as much gold as i put into it. (excl loaded dice which are selling for around 20k atm)
yaaa not worth on your sever you would be paying way more getting these crates if you were to sell the trophy mats unless you're depending on rng to gift you precision armoring tools

We have known it will give trophy mats. It was the first thing datamined. Its still like 2mil xp for a full circle. You get what like 1k x per craft? The amount of resources required to do a full level is going to be extreme. Its also probably only going to give 1 item at a time so yea not that big of a deal.
This has been changed. Database will likely update to reflect those changes soon. Current datamines show the trophy items are no longer in the reward chests.
Dayum i am at 124 furnishing feels bad i was going to buy oil and potent solvent but F for me now potent will be kinda cheap but oil gonna go up soo high coz its hard to farm that shit too (not hard just boring and slow process )

OMG I envy those trophy mats prices where there are none in TP in mine. I did the math and you need 1984000exp to for the full circle. Those are 1476 stains and with your prices + taxes = 13581. I don't know the average price of the trophy mats but for what I've seen in your server this is not "huge profit" at all. Also needing 15k pure solvent and 6k oil makes this method hard to replicate

I am not at all seeing how this is a big deal? A fair number of people will get a few times around the furnishing circle I am sure, but I am sure it is going to cost a fortune and presumably the chest will only give a few of these 22 odd possibly drop items…and that is never to be repeated. Yes it will introduce a reasonable number of new trophy materials….but compared to them just dropping out in the world (something that can be repeated endlessly by everyone) I am not seeing this as a big change to the market – in fact the biggest change sounds like it will be in these early days before/on release of this when people are freaking out!
I get what your saying… but there's like 10 people on our whole server with 200 furnishing. Even if all 10 of those people did this, it will still cost them around 5k gold per level past 200. Some of the best trophies would be worth it, but what if you get corrupted crest or other common materials from the box? Either way I don't think these materials will drop very much.
Update: Apparently they changed this 15 hours ago and the NWDB page updated literally 30 minutes after I published this. For the moment they removed the legendary trophy mats from the caches which makes furnishing absolute garbage to level unless you need to level it up. We don't know if they'll keep it this way or if it will be different when it goes live. I personally will hold my oil and pure solvent until then so I can test it for all of us to see which version makes it to live servers. As it stands right this second though, this video is no longer accurate and furnishing is garbage for leveling aptitude now. Use caution when approaching this game mechanic.
Second update: I've also been informed that the guy who's in charge of updating the NWDB filters for items said they may not be 100% accurate. So we won't have 100% certainty on any of this until it goes live hopefully next week.

Im not sure I'd trust the database website, since things are bound to change. That seems like it's a super generous payout for the caches. Last night, I was on PTR with someone else, and they went through 3 aptitude caches for harvesting. They got like 30 & 20 smolderhide and whatever other mat, and lots of azoth vials. I only got a tier 1 mining cache, which was 4 tolvium, 2 crafting mods and an azoth vial. You might get lucky and this still stay the same. But it's a risky move, if you're not somehow flowing in cash like VGD is.
These videos ruining my experience with the game with the amount of time I can play this game per day. every thing goes up and I can't craft anything 1 50 for oil and 2 gold for solvents and people are farming these materials where I can't even farm myself due to the population of the servers
Doen't mean you have to sell everything right now, there are soooooo few ppl maxed out furnishing compared to playerbase and still these ppl need to get to the point where they can drop one from the chest and THEN it actually needs to drop.

you do realize u just spend sbout twice what the trophy mat costs to buy that solvent and oil…and 3mil xp for an apptitutde level is about as much XP from 170-200 (im getting my 200 armoring now and im at 170 need to make almost 1k infused silk gloves to get to 200, and on my low pop server all prices from mats to reagents are jacked to shit…
