  1. As a fellow sisters player, I felt my heart drop as you listed out these changes. I've been so excited to play Sisters with the new detachments because I never liked Hallowed Martrys, but this is like getting punched in the gut after shaking my hand. They removed more models than added, and finally gave us reasonable detachments, and then overprice everything. I'm a little bit heartbroken right now.

  2. I think the detachment points idea isn't bad, as long as enhancements were reduced to balance it out. People want to have their models so we don't want to lose out. Great and very helpful videos, thanks @vanguardtactics

  3. Sisters miracle dice should be removed IMO. I was thinking you could replace it with something like a prayer action. You can attempt to pray for a miracle and on a 4+ it goes off. This could be stuff like:

    Remove battle shock – deliver us from evil
    Fight on death – desperate for redemption
    Fall back and charge – the prayer of guidance
    Maybe even fight twice – the emperor’s wrath

    Obviously with the caveat that you can only do each once per game army wide etc so it doesn’t become over the top. Would be very easy to accommodate lore wise. Maybe even have characters who let you re-roll the prayer or +1 to pray etc maybe with the Triumph you guarantee it goes off(again once per game). There is a lot you could up with

  4. 10th edition is the tipping point between competitive warhammer and fun warhammer. Competitive play is spoiling the game now because GW don’t put enough resources into rules and playtesting.

  5. 9:25 Absolutely what is happening with some units. That would be extra work for GW, but for the sake of the game – and they have shown they are willing to make things better with the Core Rules update and Balance Dataslate, why can't they have a "base cost" for a unit, and then, add a premium on it in a Detachment where there are better synergies for it?

    e.g. Repentia Squad 5 Models 70pts, 10 models 140points / Penitent Host Detachment – Repentia Squad 5 Models +20 points, 10 Models +40 points.

  6. Basically, sisters lost the ability to field characters leading units now.

    Sisters also lost a ton of models in general to fit in an army. Where once they used to balance against Space Marines by having greater numbers; now, they have basically the same number as SM but -2W.

    I'm so sad… are the Cadians any fun? Drukhari? I don't know why GW gives some armies a half-dozen or more Detachments, but Sisters and Drukhari have 4 or less.

    Boy, I'm still saddened by the loss of models to my AS army… no more Distraction Carnifices; no more units bolstered by leaders; no more exploring the Detachments! Honestly, with how expensive they've become, I bet they'll be reduced to just the best meta list, and anything outside this tightly established list will be unplayable. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm out.

  7. Stephen is dead on with his criticism of Detachment design!

    Besides making it feel like units are near impossible to point 'correctly', having detachments that boil down to "buff [KEYWORD]" is just way less interesting than enabling a unique ability or play style for your **army**.

  8. Sisters aren't as bad as Steve thinks they are. Vahlgons are better now. 13ppm increase but gain a point of T and +1 to hit and wound vehicles/monsters….now Vahlgons are hitting on 2's rerolling, wounding the vast majority of tanks/monsters on 2's with their multimeltas in the Flames detachment, 3's in any other detachment rerolling. In melee if you give them the maces they are wounding EVERYTHING in the game on 2s with the exception of the Monolith and the GUO which is still 3's rerolling.

    Some units didn't need to go up but I am calling it right now….until the next data slate Sisters are going to be Top 3 at every major
