  1. Lots of good information! I didn't hear you mention a generator, do you carry one? I just did three weeks out and didn't eat in a restaurant. Being solo with the dog, I just didn't feel it was necessary. I prepped some things before I left (like a meatloaf) carried some healthy microwave dinners, and a small cooler of fruit sits in the passenger seat while driving. By the time I pull in at night, the last thing I want to do is prep a big dinner. You seem to have hit a good balance of being frugal, but you don't seem to be scrimping. Value!

  2. I began carrying a solar suitcase. I was wondering, does anyone use a portable solar panel to charge a "solar generator" (I hate that term) and use that to power an electric blanket instead of using the furnace? Obviously not below zero, but I had some nights in the low forties while dry camping.
