This was helpful. Very small herd. Been working on pastures, got some good ideas
Good stuff thanks!
😉👍🙏
Peter, you discussed natural aeration, and those dandelions are also helping with the long tap root on the plant. I have very clay soil, and the dandelions root helps to break the clay crust for moisture, air, worms, and so on! Keep on keeping on!
Dandelion being considered a weed is the greatest Zionist marketing ploy of all time 😅
Common sense lesson, thanks! So many variables not be flexible. Growing zones , soil types, plant variety, herd sizes it's good to pay attention to the land.
Excellent work. I have watched this twice and have learned so much.
Hi Pete, what company do you order your parts from for your manure spreader? I have an oldy but goody that needs replacement parts and it seems as though you have the parts department locked in.
What's a bed-pack? Thanks.
Great video. This information is really helpful. Thank you!
Great content – you are a good steward of the land- keep up the great work
I'm learning there are soo many similarities between western plains and upstate NY. Thanks for the video
When you are cold you need more food to keep warm
Great content! I'll have to check the Ph of my fields to see if I need to add lime so I can reduce herbicides!
Just a thought, maybe spread some seed everyday after moving the chickens to cover the bare spots.
Thank you for your videos!
Outstanding video!
Thanks
BURDOCK AND DANDELION ROOT POWDERS ARE AMAZING HERBS, YUP, PULL THEM CLEAN THEM DRY THEM AND POWDER CAN BE SOLD FOR A NICE PROFIT, DENDELION ROOTS, LEAVES AND FLOWERS ARE HIGHLY NUTRITIOUS.
👏Love it.
Awesome content
I inherited a pasture infesred with cats ear/false dandelion. Which is very toxic to my horses. Any advice on getting rid of the false dandelion?
What about water? Is watering of the fields needed after seeded or during dry spells?
Thx again
I love your methods. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent advice, we retired, bought 100 acre farm in KY. Our goal: get the soil healthy, maintain the herd (50 head) improve fencing and watering sources.
yeah i had look as dandelions and even Timothy grass as weeds and every animal that eat grass eat it and they like it so its like snack for them but its sign that you land is fertily and healthy of life.
if they dont eat it than you mow it most of the time and if you dont mow than it just die and act like food for plants next year.
good farming…my idea ( for my future acreage ) stay natural ( let nature be ) don't go into 'money making ' factory plan to keep maybe one cow one horse and one dog about 12 acres ( in India ) all farmers probably need to go organic and 'nature bound' forget greed and money
We are in upstate NY as well!
Very informative! Thanks. I'll subscribe for more info.
We farm rocks in NY.
found mob grazing works really well on low numbers 3-5, 10m-15m sq moving 3 -4 times a day on fateners, keeps them eating whenever you give them more grass but with numbers 6 and over field grazing seems better on the the cattle.
Thanks for the video has been super helpful as always, looking at adding diversity to pasture will try the mix you recommend looks awesome.
Great video
Thanks Pete for detailing your way for your area.
I live in the opposite climate of you on 3 acres in high desert of So Calif where we get 6” rainfall annually.
I planted some Brown top millet in a small area to try to get ground better for future pasture. I would like to get a cow to raise but would like to get as much grass growing so not to buy lot of hay. Hopefully get acre of property built for pasture.
I need a little help. I recently lost by bull due to bloat, and I'm worried it's because there's too much clover in my pasture. Is this a possible cause? And should I plow and restart?
This is so terrific in so many ways. Really enjoy and appreciate your channel.
How to irrigations.?
Very very good video.
I like this man . He genuinely telling the truth
The saying is: The proof of the pudding is 'in the eating'.
Super interesting!!
