I've always wondered if game launch login queues are a result of a game company underestimating how many players they'll have, or if they can only afford so many servers at launch…
I guess in this case it's obvious, since Amazon has effectively infinite money, but still.
In its current state , NW is a polished turd ! The game may look nice and feel immersive , but the questing is the definition of linear and every single mob is extremely broken and clunky and very easy to predict . The end game content ( if you can call it that ) is virtually non existent and the only thing that is slightly worth mentioning is the crafting . Other than that, this polished turd is still shit at it's core .
New world is still 6 months to a year from being ready, people are going to get to max level, realize there is little to nothing to do, then quit and may not come back. I have no idea why all these game companies rush their product out, have terrible launches and no content. If they had a solid late to end game, I would consider playing, but I have seen nothing beyond the leveling experience and that will get old within a month.

I'm about 10 hours in to New World so take that as you will. My honest impression is…it's average… I'm also still playing WoW so I'm one of those people that compare it to that "other" MMO.
The 10 hours I played in New World today was significantly less fun than the 3 hours I spent clearing SSC with my 24 mates on WoW tonight. I'll wait till I hit end game before I make a fair comparison but it's hard to figure out what makes an MMO fun. Is it the game itself or the people I play with?
Scott your video content is great, but comparing anything to the FFXIV numbers on steam only makes you look both biased and uninformed. You were clearly trying to show that New World had some hype, so I wanted to let you know it was a bad comparison. No one cares about the FFXIV numbers on steam, no one plays there. In fact, people will tell you NOT to buy the game on steam because in the past it has had issues connecting some accounts to their game versions.
I don't understand the "there is no end game content" criticism. 99% of the people who make it, have never been to the end game. There is 100's of hours worth of content leveling up, crafting and enjoying the journey along the way. There is already tons of information about the first major content patch.
The problem with any new game, I don't think it's possible to have enough content to make people happy. Gamers have just changed. They no life games playing 18-20 hours a day for weeks straight and then complain there is not enough content.

Sliding instead of running sometimes is the bug from open beta, don't know how (clearly not a small company) Amazon could left it like that
Got my refund already mate. Nothing to do with launch experience. More so the game itself. The start was more or less a rip off from Dungeons and Dragons online start. And then i started the combat… woeful animation. Then i thought il give it a chance walked around jumped (wth is this animation) Then i thought let me go into the water wonder if it will have under water stuff (This animation is terrible) Jump in water (right this is bad for a 2021 game) . Come out of water walk around killing stuff… hack slash hack slash – All at the same time thinking this is reminding me of ESO a bit now graphically (and ESO does it better). Then 2 hours later with all this going off.. and coupled with the fact it has NO PVE endgame.and watching your WILL IT LAST vidioe.. . why would i even want to torture myself through it invest hours and hours into it.. when we have smooth gaming from wow shadowlands or tbc.
Sadly its not enough here to take me away from azeroth at all. 5/10 overall. Other games out there that are doing what they are trying to do here better.
