How Ukraine's power and water supply is coping with Russian missile strikes – BBC News

Ukraine says Russia has launched a wave of missile attacks across the country, including in the capital, Kyiv – as Moscow steps up its attacks on critical infrastructure ahead of winter.

Power and water supplies across Ukraine have been badly affected, with 40% of the capital city remaining without water and 270,000 homes having no electricity, said Kyiv’s Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

Thirteen people were injured in the attacks nationwide, Ukraine said. Russia said the strikes were aimed at Ukraine’s military control and energy systems and that all targets were hit.

  4. If the same russian trolls gave their army their organization skills the war would have been over in a matter of days. Its always the same, they go to the replies call you a nazi, make a petty insult, repeat the same old tired "But the media said X" as if hou were literally all of the media or mention a whataboutisim to justify their imperialisim while admitting to it, like it and then leave. A shame their millitary department is notas good as its propagada one. All of those Rajeshs and Mohameeds or resentful westerners really have russia's back as cheerleaders.

  5. Russia serfs only come in mass for videos of russian shelling cities and hitting water and power supplies. No major comments on the battlefield losses, russias repression of the rights of its own people, poor logistics and blantant imperialisim which they say to hate. Literally videos about cities being shelled and commiting war crimes is the only thing which they can celebrate with the same scripts and emojis. What a bunch of physicopaths.

  6. Attacking the bridge was a mistake. Russia was looking for an excuse to attack the infrastructure to stop the gains of Ukraine military. Ukraine was already gaining ground so what was the point of giving Russia the option to escalate.?
I still wonder was this what Ukrainians dreamed of when they went down the route of NATO membership? was diplomacy still feel so unimportant like it felt just before the war?

  7. Most Ukrainian grains go to the EU.

It seems that in order to prevent diseases, Ukraine will begin making plans to evacuate the larger cities. Urban Ukrainians will either go to the country side, or to various EU countries.

  9. Just accept Russia peace deal that media is not talking about, Ukraine keeps getting all these missles and weapons given to them given to boys with no idea how to use them, then suddenly tons of missles attacks are reported in Ukraine, but no missle attacks reported on Russian areas……so what’s happening to all the Ukrainian missles that were donated 🧐

  10. Clearly GB supports Nazi's. BBC themselves have made documentaries about the rise and influence of Right Sector and others in Ukraine politics and military.

Russian soldiers in the occupied Skadovsk of the Kherson region publicly executed a 56-year-old local resident, nurse Tetyana Mudrenko, for shouting "Skadovsk is Ukraine!" This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to the words of the executed woman's sister Natalia Chornaya.

It is noted that Mudrenko worked as a nurse and actively protested against the Russian occupation.

One of the most recent conflicts occurred in early October, when she reprimanded Ukrainian policemen for cooperating with the Russian military and shouted "Skadovsk is Ukraine!"

According to eyewitnesses, after that the woman and her common-law husband, 60-year-old Anatoly Orekhov, were detained.

And on October 15, Chornia was informed that her sister was dead.

The woman called Mudrenko's sister and reported that "Tanya was hanged. They poured something into her mouth and then hung her in front of the courthouse."

Mudrenko Orekhov's husband was released, he had a broken arm and traces of beatings. He was allowed to bury his wife. After the funeral, he disappeared again.

Chorna said she called the local morgue, but they refused to talk to the woman. And after some time, she was still sent a certificate of her sister's death, where the cause was called "mechanical asphyxiation".

As the FT notes, some details related to Mudrenko's alleged abduction and death could not be verified because they took place in areas inaccessible to Western journalists.
