Let us remember that a large portion of the Russian speakers, etc came to Ukraine when Stalin sent them there to replace the Ukrainians that he starved to death in the 1930s. I think that this is why there has been a rise in right wing Ukrainian Nationalism, and especially since the separatism of some Russian speaking areas; which was encouraged and facilitated by Russian armed forces. We may see something akin to what happened in Czechoslovakia after WWII when they forced all of the Germans in the country to either leave or be killed.

I heard Crimea has a lot of ww2 defences there. Gunna be hard to break into. So much history in Crimea, russia used it to attack German oil fields in ww2. 1854 the Crimean war, described Sevastopol as a โfortressโ. I was reminded the other day, thatโs where the famous charge of the light brigade happened.

It seems that all the Russians have to do is sit back, reinforce, replan, regroup and pound Ukraine from a suitable distance.
Winter is terrible in that part of the world and even the Ukrainians may find it very hard to survive a constant barrage to their vital infrastructures. The Russian Generals seem to have taken a far harsher attitude to this War, and really donโt care about human suffering. To halt this War, the Russian People need to stand up and be counted, but a great number of them still support Putin, in their ignorance, and dissent is punished harshly, Old Soviet Style.

Russian people are apolitical and apathetic. If Russia was completely broken up. they wouldn't bat an eyelid as long as they had a bowl of food and a place to sleep. They are unable to make decisions for themselves, having lived in a sort of dysfunctional gaslighted reality where their rulers tell them lies to keep their minds on a permanent state of autopilot subservience. The other Russians, have either left, been imprisoned or killed and would welcome change. The rest are too poor to care. There never was a motherland.
