A week after Ukraine invaded the Kursk region of western Russia – when around 1,000 troops surprised analysts by storming across the border – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin vowed to “kick the enemy out of our territory”.
But has the success of Ukraine’s incursion threatened his grip on power?
On the Sky News Daily, Niall Paterson is joined by our security and defence analyst Michael Clarke to explore the reasoning behind the timing of the invasion, and Peter Dickinson, editor of the UkraineAlert blog for the Atlantic Council based in Kyiv, explains how the invasion has exposed the weakness of Putin’s ‘red lines’.

Russia has killed 2,000 of the 3,000 strong Ukrainian Force in a few days and maintains huge reserve Forces in Central Russia and it hasn't employed none of its Heavy Mechanized Units yet (think about that).
Now look at the map Ukraine has captured many villages but they are all hamlets. Just because there is a video of a Soldier is in location doesn't mean they control it, their are 3 villages which are exits/entry's in Susha for example they are controlled by the Russians this is operational encirclement.
The Kiev regime is 50km from the NPP which was there objective for the first 24/48 hours now the Russians are deeply entrenched. Ukraine is using mobile forces, and videos look like they are everywhere but they are not. This is classical US/NATO worthless text book art which after a few weeks that got Ukraine Summer Offensive disaster in Robotyne, now its being repeated inside Russia
So how does the Kieve regime supply their forces 15km into Russia and then hope to go far deeper into and hold without being destroyed. No direct roads and surrounded by the Russians from all sides in every direction.
It is hard for mappers to understand this but listen to analysts with a understand of disaster the Kiev forces are getting themselves in. If Zelensky thinks Kursk is going to change the position of Russia he has gotten it an answer with the Russian Government now throwing away negotiations . People need to understand Kursk , Summy, Kharkov, Beograd they are one of the same for the Russian Command now Russia proper and will become sanatory zones once Ukraine Forces have been all destroyed

However, Zelenski's recent Incursion is Tactically Dangerous! Putin will now throw everything He's got back at Ukraine especially if He is successfull in Repelling the Ukrainian's opposition Forces currently occupying previously Russian held territory! His so called Public and Global Humiliation will not pass without consequences, severe ones at that! We, are dealing with a genuine Psychopath here! A true Villan! An individual who is absent of all and any Apathy or Empathy. He, (Putin) will at some point, push the 'red button!' But, it will probably be with the use of intermediate ranged missiles of nuclear origin (ten kiloton yeilds or more.) His Primary Target, will be once again, Ukraine's Capitol Kyiv. When, and if this should occur, it will very quickly signify an entire new 'ball game' which in turn, will trigger a whole new series of scenarios around the World domestically as well as Commercially. It is quite likely and very possible, that the General Public will begin embarking on mass panic buying as an initial first reactive response. Public disorder will be also a potential by product, followed by ensuing Mass Social Unrest in almost all Major Population Centers across the Globe! As for the rest, well… I have various models in progress at this time, but, in order for myself to be more accurate, I am severely lacking a great deal of essential information to which civillians such as myself, do not currently have Security Clearance or access to. My current probability rating indicates, that the potential for 'World War' is at 91.23% and will most likely be initiated within Q.2 and Q.3 of 2025 next year. That's the best that I can do, sorry. Ukrainian Armed Forces need to establish a strong defensive line every three to five kilometers as the incursion expands further into Russia's territory intending to hold the newly captured territory for future swap land for peace if peace negotiations occur.

Unfortunately, one really has to say unfortunately, Russia has regressed into a developing country. Apart from Gorbachev, there was no leader who was seriously interested in democratizing this country. The people, with the exception of a few oligarchs, have always suffered under the yoke of despots. Attempts like Navalny's were thwarted in the well-known Putin style by the person's death. I just hope that Russia manages to stop this despot and murderer. It will take time to restore trust in Russia. The supposed friends China, India and the other despotic countries are only sucking the Russian people dry.
