How Ukraine Shocked Russia with Kursk Invasion | Battle Board | Daily Mail

After more than two years of Ukraine holding back Russia’s invasion, this summer Kyiv flipped the script and sent its troops marching into Russia. Using Western weapons and tactics to devastating effect, Ukrainian troops captured more territory in just a few weeks than Russia had taken in the preceding months. Putin was forced to pull troops out of Ukraine to rush back and defend the homeland and, when that failed to get the Ukrainians out, he had to turn to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un for help.

  1. Rule number one of Military maps. Never point on the map with your fingers, use something ells to point with. It's a lot easier for the audience to see what you are pointing at if you use something like a pen rather than a big hand with 5 painters on it.

  2. Thank you for an (again) amazing video. As many other commentators already pointed out, it is extremely well presented and explained. I just have one specific issue you may consider working on: I think the maps would be even more understandable if you would put a scale on the bottom (5k, 10k scale etc.)

Thanks again for an amazing video!

  3. Could you consider covering other conflicts on battle board such as the Israeli-palestinian conflict, I would be very interested and I'm sure others would be too. Love battle board by the way! A super easy way to understand intricate and complex warfare.

  4. Russia let Kursk happen. There is no way Russia satellites wouldnt see troops amass there. Ukraine sent their best troops and equipment, they have take horrific losses and Russia never pulled their troops from the frontlines. This was a failed operation even the Pentagon agrees. Kursk is being surrounded, its over for Ukraine.

Карту внимательно не смотрит. Цели нападения не понимает.

  6. The pace of this operation surprised me but they did not meet their expectations. Russia only withdrew a couple of divisions from the Siversk front and intensified operations in the Pokrovsk and South Donetsk fronts

  7. Still no concrete evidence that North Korean troops are fighting. Zero video footage from the battleground. If 10,000 troops are there then where are they? Kursk as of Dec 2 has been a zero gain for Ukraine and potentially the worst military blunder of the fight

  8. It's so strange. After the Ukrainian attack on the Kursk region, the speed of the reconquest of territories by the Russians is only increasing. So whats the point of the Ukrainian attack? Help the Russians?

  9. the comparison with the counteroffensive in 2023 is incorrect. First, the RF did not wait for the Kursk operation. and about the counteroffensive in 2023, everyone was only talking about where and when the offensive would take place.
secondly (and this, by the way, was recognized by the donors themselves) that the necessary weapons for success were provided for 30% of the promised (at the time of the offensive).
and these are generally the main reasons for failure.
as a confirmation of the above, this is a successful Kharkiv operation in the fall of 2022
