Absurd video. Everything China does is "badly coordinated". China have a top 2 best coordinated navy in existence today, it is training extensively using former US and UK personel to understand US doctrines best possible. And everything USA does is "amazing" and US F-18 just outmaneuver the PL-15's. And USA have an AEW plane…. but so does China. F-18's are far from stealthy. USA have stealth planes, but China have many MANY more stealth planes in the area. They actually have more J-20's then USA have F-22's today. And the F-35's have to be used for ASM missions as no other US plane can enter the Chinese safety zone with Anti ship missiles after the B-20's have been moved from Guam.
I know USA would be superior in their near defense in such a battle due to more sophisticated electronics, but the difference is not that big anymore. And US CAN have a Seawolf in the area, but China DOES have 17 ultra silent Yuan class submarines that US will have a very hard time to detect = the US carrier group will also have unseen visitors. AND China have a large fleet of diesel electric subs that are extremely hard to detect = no ship can sail into the South China sea feeling safe. IF a day to day battle will happen in the South China sea where neither part have the time for a build up of ressources, China will have all advantages and USA will have problems. I am not saying the USA will lose in an all out war, but in a smaller battle Chine will probably win as they have "unlimited" ressources nearby while USA'a supplies have to cross the largest ocean on the globe.
So this is assuming no american planes from taiwan or japan would get involved

Especially if the E/A-18 Growler and F-35’s are doing their jamming abilities well, and for the F-35 locking onto the target vessel, the F/A-18 need never need to get into range of enemy SAM or Interceptors.

I'm sorry but while the US Navy has been having issues in recent decades, the US Navy is still by far the best trained, maintained, and functional Blue Water Navy, the Navy having the world's 2nd Largest Airforce right behind the US Airforce. I can promise you China MIGHT see that theres a stealth aircraft out there somewhere, but they would never get target lock on the F-35s after the F-35s launched LRASMs and full-burned out of the area. Just wouldnt happen. Not a single F-35 would go down.

You describe the carrier as if it cannot launch anymore sorties until planes already in the air return first. That's now how it works! With a US carrier than has some 80+ combat aircraft, it can send up a launch cycle, wait, and then wave number two goes up. Then wave one comes back, then wave three goes up, and wave two returns, as wave four takes to the air. We would always have planes on station, with the next set on their way, and ones needing to return, doing so. US carriers can launch and recover at the same time. It isn't optimal but under combat situations, the deck is designed to accommodate both tasks at the same time. Recover, refuel, rearm and launch again in less than an hour.
