Are your waveforms appearing too small (or huge and clipped) even though the audio signal is totally fine? Before you start messing with gain, you’ve got to check this out.
In this Studio One Pro tutorial, PreSonus Software Specialist Joe Gilder discusses “Data Zoom”, a quick and easy way to adjust the waveform height view on your audio files!

I am your sister in God. By God, I did not write these words except out of distress and the harshness of circumstances. I am asking God and then from you. Do not leave me disappointed. My brother. We are women. We cannot go out and work like men. My Lord, I honor you. You are men. We are women. We cannot go out and work like you. My brother, where is humanity? Where is the brotherhood of faith? in Your hearts''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''' My brother, my first words are that I swear to God on the Book of God that I will not lie to you, nor deceive, nor deceive. I am a Yemeni girl from Yemen who is displaced. My family and I. There are 20,000 Yemenis between us, Ayat Al-Shahrb, and now we owe 60,000 for 3 months, and the owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy. By God, my brother, everything will come. One day he would insult us and talk about us and move from the house to the street because we could not pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us. We cried and they came back to talk to the neighbors and gave us the end of the week. We made him swear an oath to God. He took us out to the street. Have mercy on us.Our country is because of this war, and we cannot find food for our day, and I, my brothers and I are living on a embassy. Our father has passed away, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who has been with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out to the street and saw the neighbors eating and stopped at their door to give them bread, even if they broke it, and by God who has the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them. They came back crying, dying of hunger, and no one left Have mercy on them and give it a holiday, I have made a living, and now blame one of us for helping us with a kilo of flour. I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am a stranger to God and then to you, and I want your help for the sake of God. I implore you, for God’s sake, to love goodness and help me, even if it is 60,000 Yemeni riyals, by messaging me on WhatsApp on this number 00967,772168484 and asking. Name my card and send it and don't be late May God compensate you with all the best, my brothers Sagar. Look at how they are, help us and save us before they throw us out in the street. We will be lost or die of hunger. My family and I ask you inGod’s name, if you are able to help us, do not be late for us, and may God reward you. Wish i learned this before I bought a40 inch monitor….. man… thank you!😂😂
I love data zoom. I use it all the time to catch those tiny breaths that I can't normally see. Saves me a ton of time cutting them out.
There is no data zoom in Pro Tools? You learn something every day…
How to control pitch band in Studio One 7?
Let me just say thanks for that wave form sizing info. I've had that problem and didn't know how to fix it ever since I updated to Cubase 14… yeah! Long time user. I'd be using Studio One if I weren't already vested because it's an awesome daw. Same fix. Thanks again.
why is it see the videos of studio one, but none of the videos show me how to navigate to the function I'm looking for. I've watched the video on youtube, that show me how to use timing corrections. Could make a video showing me how to get to this feature in studio one 7.
Brilliant tip thanks Joe 🙂
is anyone willing to donate a PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 USBMixer or a studio live24c:(((( or the 8 channel quantum interface! heck just something I can record on! my 1st Focusrite 18i20 is beat and doesn't work well with studio one pro…..willling to trade! I need at the very minimum 8 inputs for my 7 piece DW KIT I FEEL LIKE WITH WHAT I HAVE IT SHOULD BE PUT TO SO MUCH MORE USE! . Any console would be great! I can promise you that it would NOT BE PUT TO WASTE!!!! MUCH LOVE! ALSO Joe even though im not the smartest I've LEARNED SO MUCH FROM YOU! specially because your more on the live recording side as opposed to Gregor who is incredibley smart with the midi part I've learned so much from both y'all and I am so appreciative Much love!
In Studio One, I use the Listen Bus if I need to hear something louder without messing with the mix itself just to get it louder. I also sometimes use tools that do studio emulation (so, I can hear my mix supposedly as it would sound in various studios, cars, etc.) and I put those on the listen bus as well. I also use data zoom a lot depending on what I'm doing with audio tracks.
When will Presonus move away from the predatory and extortionate business model where it enslaves its customers and leaves no freedom – will it be possible to buy Studio one or will we never be allowed to have a licence again? I'm striking the software and not buying a new one, our premises won't pay for updates – we're back to using torrents and (like many others) won't spend another cent on rental software that will never be ours. SHAME ON YOU!
Great video!! We are pro tools and ableton users very interested in switching over – had a question if my brother and I get studio one can we collaborate on a session with a single license? We work in the same studio room on each of our laptops so we would just like to both add things to the same session we’re both collaborating on. Thanks for any advice on this ya might have!
Hi Joe can you do a video on why and how to use the Listen Bus. I'm confused as to what to use it for
