How to perform engine wash on aircraft

Turbine engine compressor wash is the single most cost-effective maintenance procedure for any jet engine. Engine performance is affected by both gas turbine thermal efficiency and mechanical health of components. Since the compressor typically consumes 60-70 percent of power generated, compressor washing is critical to engine management.

Contamination in the compressor section leads to deteriorating thermal efficiency and causes reduced engine performance. Furthermore, damage to compressor blades caused by contamination can lead to engine failure. Routine compressor washing can dramatically improve engine performance, increase engine life cycles and lower operating costs. Thanks to our Cyclean this procedure is quick and easy.

*********video is just for information purposes always stick to the latest maintenance manual. For this purpose, I didn´t record one removal/installation step*********

  1. This is funny to me because I worked for Lockheed and Rolls-Royce at Stennis Space Center as a Turbofan Test Engineer on the R&D for the Trent 900, 1000, and XWB. We washed our engines with a similar set-up, but we were on a man lift holding a 5000 psi spray nozzle while the engine was cranked on our test stand.

  3. OK, so I’m like everybody else I was expecting to see some water come out of it or something to see what was inside. And there was nothing. This is disappointing andunsatisfying.
