I forgot one thing this would be my first sewing project because I am the newest of the new sewer over here do you think this would be a pretty easy project to start with?🥰
You just bought any shade rod at Walmart? I looked at some, but couldn’t find a good one.
Why not just buy one already made? I’m in desperate need of blackout and noise reducing shades!
Soooooo nice! What a great idea and So pretty! I can't sew, though! I might try throwing some colorful contact paper on some shades, instead! 🤭 Don't judge me! 😆😅
I think if I was doing this project i would use sunbrella fabric. Good idea.
I just found your channel. LOVE LOVE LOVE your She Shed! I want to make the blinds and you just showed me how! Thank you.
Thank you! Really creative and cool idea!
Actually rollers are not blinds. Rollers are shades, since it is made with solid fabric. Blinds have slats that can be tilted. You interchange blinds and shades in the video. They are not interchangeable.
Wow! this is a lot easier than doing roman shades and just as pretty. I'm tired of buying drapes for my living room. I'm going to do this for sure. Also thanks for explaining the mistakes along the way. Mistakes are how we learn. Subscribed
Beautiful, but the roller side goes on the outside.
Gorgeous! Might I ask where you got the fabric?
❤BEAUTIFUL ❤
Very imaginative and professional video! Making the shades is a lot of work but worth it because buying shades costs a small fortune!
Great idea!!!
I need to know the exact name of the hardware you bought. Ty
What’s the brand of the rod?
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I've been looking for an alternative to typical window mini blinds. I really dislike the new "cordless" blinds that don't stay in their brackets. I never thought of making my own shades and this is fantastic. As a seamstress I find this easy to do.
Love it!! I will be doing this to my extra rooms.
Great job. Saved tons of money, for sure.
I LOVE that fabric. Great tutorial!
your link for the fabric is no longer, can you tell me what type of fabric you purchased, like cotton or polyester? Thank you.
Botellita de jerez…por si las moscas, jejeje.
Nou entendeur nada.
Hay se ven.✌️😅
Lovely.. ..do you know what the large width of the shade that Wal-Mart sales?
Use quilter’s methods to measure and cut square and very straight fabric. It is much easier than what you demonstrate here.
Hi, I have the Mainstays Adjustable shade. I'm wondering if I have a problem with the separate brackets that I bought that were suggested. The grove where the rod posts (round and flat) seem to be going in different directions which doesn't seem correct to me. What was yours like?…🤔
I want to learn to make a shade. First I must have the battle over conjured racism shoved in my face.
Very good 👍🙏
Really colorful and beautiful .
I just spent 3k on custom roller blinds for a few rooms in my house…and I still need more! I’m going to try your tutorial for the guest room and a few other areas (seriously this house has like a million freakin windows 😅). Thank you SO MUCH for this advice! $33 per window is sounding pretty good to me. Your shed looks so cute already!
Counter idea: instead of using shades to block the skylight you could simply add a cat lol. Really cool idea! Love the fabric!
❤
Excellent video. Love your candor about mistakes (we all make them!) and learning from them. Thank you.
Great Job, really bright inspiring colors 🙂
beautiful😊
great blinds. I will be trying this for myself soon. Thanks for the tutorial Serena👍🏾
When the spray adhesive warms up from the sun, your fabric will bubble all over the place. I didn't realize this when I made mine three years ago. They still look great from the inside of the house but from the patio, they look pretty sad. Love your fabric! I hope you are loving your she shed!
Came here because of Alexander Gater using your tutorial. What a great idea.
This is a great idea, I just don’t understand why the outside face of curtains or shades are ignored. It looks terrible from the outside. Would have been so easy to customize it with a pretty fabric on top or instead of the blackout shade.
Instead of covering your skylights, put some sun loving plants there…if it's a good location and will not block your traffic flow.
what is the name of your fabric and where did you get it from? It is beautiful!!
love your shirt. Thanks for saying it without saying it out loud. wear it out loud
I have these shades from Walmart and this is exactly what I was hoping to do!
