I came across a freighter battle yesterday after 3 jumps and less than 1 hour of gameplay. Maybe they've changed something with 4.0?
The autosave ruins everything u cant choose now

Does this method still work after the Waypoint update? The save puck is gone now, and exiting the starship OR saving from a Save Beacon are both treated as a manual save. So I think if we land in the freighter bay and exit the ship, we can't reload to before the jump anymore.
Also, you can use a current freighter to get your 5 waps without activating the battle sequence. Then just save and warp with your starship. Help with finding specific ones listed via glyphs.
It took me 67 Retries to get an S Class. I think it is worth it (Or Gee – I wouldn't have done it).
If I leave the system to get more money can I return and the same ship and class will be there?
Does this work for the Dreadnaught S class.
I was doing a smuggling mission and I ran across a freighter battle . I didn’t know about getting it free so I just killed the pirates and then boarded the freighter to see what it had on it and left….: did I mess up being able to get a freighter for good or can I still get one free?

I can't find Sentinel or Venator types for the LIFE of me. Do I have to go through glyphs to find them?

(Disclaimer: I am new to NMS and found this last nite, so apologies if you already know about it)
If you jump into a system and the freighter battle starts, go back to your last save. Then u know u are 1 jump away from triggering the battle. If you are after a specific capital ship or freighter and have a base already set up next to a monolith portal you can take the portal to the system where the capital ship spawns. Once you reach the target system I would chuck down another save here for speed. Next hyperdrive to a red star system nearby that does NOT have a space station (you'll need the hyperdrive technology upgrade for this on your ship). The freighter battle will not trigger in this system as there is no space station in the system. Then hyperdrive back to the previous system you were in (where the capital ship u need spawns) and the battle should start. Rinse and repeat from your save until u get the capital ship as an S class!
It takes a lot of set up, but works!

I started playing when NMS released. I started playing again recently and didnt even know about the freighters so I saw the pirates attack, cleared them, then was amazed they were gifting me this freighter. I chose a horribly blocky one that looks like it halls waste! Can I sell this freighter and go do this free freighter trick or do I need to start a new character/game?

HEYYYY PLEASE PIN THIS TO HELP EVERYONE OUT JASON. So if u wanna re role the freighters class I’ve been doing this rn for the last hour got an A class but I want the s class😍anyways all u needa do is make a base in the same solar system as the freighter you like, then with the teleports you got warp from one system to the previous and back it changes the freighters class every time and color too idky it works but it does😅hope my dyslexia doesn’t fuck with the way I explained it. “Ps no other freighters will spawn in any other solar systems”
I have been playing for over 4 hours I’ve warped like 20 times and I have not found a single freighter battle or s class freighter what am I doing wrong
Do i have to continuously play 3 hours or can i play for 1 hour then quit and come back and play for 2 more hours (excluding the time i spend in menu)
I went to over one hundred systems to do this and it was not over the three hour time needed

So, of I do pick a freighter and buy it, can I continue to look for another freighter without the 3 hours and 5 warps? Or once it is saved with the new freighter I just bought that resets the cycle e, and I have to do 3 more hours and 5 warps? again

Just a question, I've played for 3 hours AND warped 5 times, and I am not getting freighter battles. Do you know why? I'm just warping, not finding anything. I've just loaded and I think that's why.
FYI, In 4.0, if you get out on the freighter, it DOES autosave. I learned the hard way. PLEASE PIN.
4 hours later I still can’t find an s class
Took me almost 3 hrs to get an S class over 100 reloads that's ridiculous literally on my last try before I was guna give up and turn the game off I finally got it
