would you highly recommend the dlc then? debating picking it up asap!
Personally, I like the game, but I don't agree with mechanics of the game being behind a paywall. Although, I dont plan on doing PvP, so it doesn't really affect me. It just seems like a bit of a pay to win strategy is all (similar to mobile).
If u have high enough ranks u can even enter a Zone that gives u Large Monster only
The good thing is that large monsters arent THAT broken. Running 4 well sunthesized monsters beats 2 latge monsters imo, especially since you can more easily build for specialized roles
I think im planning on playing with only smaller monsters and no large monsters, it seems to be working great i can take on rank D with my rank F monsters because of the unlocked skill trees. Im sure someone eventually will beat this game with only rank F monsters. Synthesis does a lot of work for you its more important than really anything else.
I miss the L and XL monster, since what we now as L is the M of the past games, because XL had the special mechanic of breaking the damage to
And the problem with the dlc shows again
If you have access to the Mole Hole, you will also unlock the Large & Small floors that only contain monsters of those sizes once you have obtained your first S or X Rank monster (which also unlocks the S/X Rank floor as well). And there's a guide here on Youtube that walks you through how you can obtain an Uberkilling Machine (an S Rank monster) very early via very specific synthesis chains. I've already managed to get a Large one of my own, and I'm in the process of also getting a Small one.
This whole 'The Mole Hole' DLC was just removed it from the base game and then sold as QoL 'feature'. I have no issue if they want call game $85 but don't sell part of the game for $60 and cut out features from previous instalments and sell it as DLC. Honestly I hate to see what "Industry Standards" will be like 5 years down line if this keeps up.
its no different than what SMT 5 did with some of the dlc options that let u encounter mitamas alot easier.

It's really not the third Monsters game. Even ignoring all 3 Joker games and Super Light, there was Caravan Heart for the GBA.
It doesn't sound game-breaking and it's clearly optional so I don't really see a problem with it. If anything, unless these large monsters have a CLEAR advantage over two small monsters then it might not even be that useful.
