  1. I've been wondering if Competitive Empoleon with Tera Stellar would work well. Flash Cannon spam (or maybe Steel Beam if it heals enough with the Shell Bell) then Stellar Tera Blast and/or more Steel moves. Empoleon resists or quad resists everything it can throw at itself, after all.

I guess the only downside is if your Flash Cannon procs the Special defense drop then the raid one gets Special attack up.

  2. Worried about it being a mixed attacker, but I am going to try my Frosmoth from the Inteleon raid again. Also thinking brining an Empoleon to an Empoleon fight would be funny (physically attacking one. Sword's Dance, Waterfall, Metal Claw, and Roost – Torrent ability).

  3. I was considering using a tera fighting impish Metagross with a Shell Bell and investments in HP and Defense. Hyper trained in everything (but not in Special Attack if you prefer). The moveset could be Sunny Day, Light Screen, Iron Defense, and Body Press. Just put up the sun and the screen and build up your defense to max out the power of Body Press. Its natural Special defense and Steel typing should be enough along with the screen and the sun to allow for set up and then tera into a fighting type and let the Empoleon have it.

  4. My prediction for this 7 star tera raid (Thinking how I presume a developer would…)

    Empoleon the Unrivalled

Tera: Ice (Fitting as it's a Pokemon based on pinguins in Antarctica. This also provides some much needed coverage on other types.)
Ability: Competitive (We can't reduce it's stats without boosting it's SpA, which means we'll have to focus on increasing our Pokemon's stats in battle. I suggest a Light Screen setter to increase out defences)
Item: Icy Rock (Boosting Snow duration)

Before the battle begins and at half time/HP it has a high chance of setting snow with Snowscape to boost it's Def against the typical Annihlape/physical builds. This is combined with the possibility of it resetting our stats (It won't reset it's own stats because weakening it will increase it's SpA high enough to one shot everything we throw at it even with boosted SpD or screens. It will simply run down the timer by constantly KOing the weakest link) which makes this even more difficult.

Moves (Best possible I can think of)
-Blizzard (100% accurate with Snow up)
-Either Surf to hit multiple targets at once (Might be a little overpowered, but we love a good challenge don't we?) or Hydro Pump as it's the strongest Water type move it can learn. Both have STAB on it's weaknesses to Fire and Rock types.)
-Air Slash (Coverage for Fighting types)
-Vacuum Wave (A priority attack that covers it's weakness to Steel Types. It might be weak, but it's ability Competitive has a high chance of turning this weak move into a serious threat. The low base power is the only downside of this move.) or Flash Cannon (It's second original STAB type with the highest power and lowest drawbacks. Beats down Fairy users.

The above combinations of moves allows this Empoleon to hit everything for at least neutral damage, cover 2-3 of it's STAB types, and allow it to perfectly synergise with all other factors in it's build.

I'm not sure how long it will take for the tera shield to activate, but based on previous raids we should have enough time to use 2-4 attacks before its used. This gives use time to set up Light screen and charge our Tera Orbs a bit. If Empoleon the Unrivalled does have Vacuum Wave, it will be best to avoid triggering it's Competitive ability, keeping it's Steel coverage at an average attack power. I think Steel types will be our best partners in this raid event, and considering just how many of them are in gen 9, we have plenty of options at our disposal.

All in all, I think this Empoleon the Unrivalled raid will be between the Delphox and Mewtwo raids in terms of difficulty, promising a great challenge to us players.

  5. Empoleon resists itself in this situation. Based on the moves now that we know what it gets. It does have Grass Knot as a neutral attack though. I'd say Empoleon is a great one to use as it is good against Ice. 👍🏻

  6. Gallade

    Ability: Steadfast

    Tera: Fighting

    Item: Shell Bell

Evs: 252 Attack, 252 Special Defense, 4 HP

Moves: Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Skill Swap (TM) & Sunny Day (TM)

Make sure to not have any Intimidates on your team. You may die once, which is fine. Apply Swords Dance when needed. Sacred Sword hits for max damage through the Iron Defense.

    Turn 1: Skill Swap

    Turn 2: Sunny Day

    Turn 3: Swords Dance

    Turn 4: Sacred Sword

  7. I cleared the 7 star tera raid Empoleon with Gallade invested in max Attack and Special Defense, with a moveset of Sacred Sword, Drain Punch, Swords Dance and Skill Swap, and I had to make sure to avoid NPCs with Intimidate since it will trigger Empoleon's competitive ability which sharply raises its special attack by two stages every time a stat is lowered, and once I made sure to avoid these NPCs, I had to use Skill Swap to exchange abilities at the first turn, however my Gallade's ability is Steadfast, and I have beaten Empoleon without any issue with my Gallade.
