In this video we have a look at how to change your tyranids into 80’s nostalgic nightmares, the Xenomorphs (basically a super elaborate head swap!!)

So cool!
Simple but effective! The colour shift oaints are awesome. They seem to work better through an airbrush… Ive only used them with a brush but still decent
Awesome video, my brother! I love all the parts with the grainy green feed. It, along with your stunning conversion and paint job, really captures the feel of the movies! Keep up the badassery!

Like the beard, Mr Nation, I think it works nicely. Your Nids look formidably awesome, great effort.
👍👍 just awesome, horrifying!
That red basing with the red shifting paint 😊👌
Great looking monsters and the whole swarm together looks just perfect 👍👍!
Stunning work man! The colourshift paints are amazing!
Such a shame GW have just announced they're discontinuing the dimachaeron. Such an amazing model
Looks awesome… now.. add a tiny amount of PVA glue around the teeth for slime/ drool and youll nail it. Yo know your next army conversion dont you… colonial marines as Imperial guard
Thank you , Mr Elston .
🐺
However much I think the Nids should be retconned out of 40K, managing to be more boring than Tau (quite an achievement!) I like the video and conversions, well done.
You madman
Wrote a long comment. YouTube deleted it.
Maybe it’s cuz I mentioned the E word?
Anyway, I found you through that site. Your tarantula triarch stalker looks amazing! I really want it lol. If it’s still on War Daddy’s page at the end of the summer, I’m going to grab it!
The tarantula triarch is a perfect blend of organic and mechanical—which is what Giger was always after.
This army looks beautiful!
Giger would be proud.
Btw, you also inspired me to finish my Spawn themed Skorne army. It also uses neon green on the weapons to make it pop!
Great work, love those colours together….heard of green stuff but not seen it used…. thanks for the demo 👍🐻
Amazing project! Respect.
Awesomeness!!
This is so cool, were you able to find just the heads from the creator? Or did you have to cut them from the individual files?
In future any cutting of resin is probably best done inside the computer before printing it pout
first off, amazing job on those models and perfect timing as i was wondering what I would do with the included tyranid models in the leviathan box set.
And second… who else now has an urge to make a colonial marine themed kill team to face off against them?
Generations of hobbists have tried to recreate Xenomorph look on Tyranids but in my opinion it never looks well. Xenomorphs are simply too monotone, the final result is that the minis look unfinished / based with black primer & thats it.
Beautiful work sir 😁❤️👍🏻
Looking great!
This video is pointless and irresponsible.
Why would you go through all this trouble if you're already 3D printing?
Just print the Papsikels models. They look amazing and certainly far more like xenomorphs than anything GW has ever made.
Your final product doesn't really end up looking distinct enough from regular Tyranids to be worth all of the dangerous techniques you utilized to make these models.
The cost of this is also grossly prohibitive. You've already invested money in a 3D printer, and taken the time to learn how to print resin, which isn't easy. You're then going to buy hundreds of dollars of GW miniatures on top of that? Why own a 3D printer if you're going to do that?
I'm left baffled that anyone would ever think any of this was a good idea.
Thats what I was looking for. Thanks man! It never occured to me to get 3D-printed Xenomorph heads xD Now I just need to find the right sizes (don't have a printer myself). Also the recommendation of colors is much appreciated.
One caveat: I don't know if the fine resin-dust that originates from cutting the resin with a rotating powertool will be kept inside a normal vacuum cleaner. It may just be blown out at the other end. For example when woodworking with powertools, its highy recomended to use a special vac with special filter which retains the fine wood dust (on a professional level its mandatory) – and I can't imagine the dust from wood to be more harmfull than from resin. So maybe its better to just cut the resin with a sharp knife manually. I imagine the little pieces of waste-resin that originate here are big enough to stay safely inside a normal vac, because they are not dust. But I don't know, I am no scientist. Just wanted to point this out.
Back on topic: I never understood why GW made Tyranids buglike instead of "giger-like" (pronounciation is "geeger" btw, like "geek"). If I am not mistaken, the game Space Hulk was inspired by the films Alien 1 and Alien 2 (and all other sequels suck, imo^^).
Thanks again for the very timely inspiration, for I will soon start a new army of "Tyramorphs"/"Xenonids".
Regards. And sorry for the bad english.
Tyranids. They murder you and add you to the genepool.
Xenomorphs. The don't murder you, they do some non-consensual stuff and you become a surrogate mommy for their gene pool, whether you like it or not. The birth process then murders you.
I'll have the Tyranids, thank you very much.
love this , turned out amazing
Whenever i look up tyranid paint schemes i inevitably end up looking at xenomorph versions
