  1. I have been building my city for like 1-2 years but have never been to serious about it since all the good Lego buildings are super expensive and I agree with off brand Lego websites. I started looking at off brand website a month ago and it made me start to get serious about my city like I got a very nice coffee shop that was 2 story’s tall and a full plate size big for about $80 and it had super good interior. Idky lego doesn’t sell their stuff for cheaper with how cheap other people sell their stuff.

  2. Oops, I started my Lego city 20 years before this video…..shot I guess I failed that. But yeah, I started with a small house my parents bought me as a kid in the 90s. Then again, when I started Brickfield Corner, YouTube didn't exist and I didn't make any content in the early years of YouTube.

  3. I know that this is nearly a year out of date, but in the UK there's a few different Lego magazines, they always come with small builds. Things like fire planes, police jetskis, 4×4, I even have a batman motorbike!! They're pretty cheap but good for details and extra pieces

  4. I started a Lego City park with the RV Camper, Horse Trailer, and few other smaller City sets. Then got the noodle shop last year, added some other smaller sets, like fire engines, police cars, small vehicle sets. Then put each of those on the large gray plates. I've aldo built a Space "city" that I call Lego Gate -1. I took parts left over from a Dimensions started set, some Mars sets, City Space sets. Plus a spaceship made from the Space Station and pre-owned Mars Shuttle that I got for $15USD. I have used a few off-brand plates, just because I could get them for $1.25 each. Though I do keep my Mego-Blok in a different storage. The small plates are a good way to display sets that might be small, like I was given a couple of Freinds sets. I put those on their own plate to display. I was asked last year to create a Christmas themed centerpiece of a luncheon, so I used a couple of Space crater plates (the 1978-79 versions) and built a pretty large display on those with trees, presents, a couple of trains, and lots of people. It's even lighted. For displaying, I used a bookshelf in my bedroom for the Park and City dioramas. The large gray plates fit perfectly with room left over to park some vehicles. With Lego, the sky's NOT the limit.

  5. Fantastic video!👍 You don't even need road plates…I have a pretty large city but it's all inside bookcases and I only have posterboard for roads. It works. Or you can think outside the box and have more bike/pedestrian pathways. There's no limit to imagination! That's why we love lego.

  6. Ooh. Such a good idea to use non-LEGO bricks! I can MILS plate for cheaper AND make a bunch of alt builds for creator 3in1 sets from Rebrickable. (The lion kit, white rabbit kit, and dino kit specifically). More money fo LEGO star wars and modulars. Keep up the great vids!

  10. First 4 tips are good.
But using alternative brands😢😢 that’s blasphemy, it is not LEGO, and in my opinion using non-LEGO parts , it is not a LEGO city
