How did you jump that far at the start?
Better to do it with a friend. You each bring a perkaholic and a Phoenix rising I think it is. Or maybe near death xp… the one that revives teammates and they keep all their perks. Take turns dying then reviving, then you can just carry on with your game and have all your perks still.
