  20. They had no reason to take the gun. The only reason you are saying they should have taken it is because you know the outcome. You do this a lot. They don't know it's a death game. They have been working together! Most people would be glad to have a gun and someone who knows how to use it in this situation. For all they know, they could come upon a room where they need to kill a giant lizard. Who knows? They have no reason to suspect they will have to fight at all. This was not mentioned or hinted at anywhere. And assuming you find yourself in a similar situation, there are just as many movies, books, etc., that have groups of people working together to avoid death as there are fighting to the last one standing. So, you'd be just as better off letting them keep the gun regardless.
