How To Archive Ships and Multitools Into Storage – No Man's Sky Worlds Part 2 Guide

No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure survival game played from a first or third person perspective that allows players to engage in five principal activities: exploration, survival, combat, trading and base building. The player takes the role of a specimen of alien humanoid planetary explorer, known in-game as the Traveller, in an uncharted universe. They start on a randomized planet near a crashed spacecraft towards the edge of the galaxy and are equipped with a survival exosuit with a jetpack, and a β€œmultitool” that can be used to scan, mine and collect resources as well as to attack or defend oneself from creatures and hostile forces. The player can collect, repair, and refuel the craft, allowing them to travel about the planet, between other planets and space stations in the local planetary system, engage in space combat with alien factions, or make hyperspace jumps to other star systems. While the game is open-ended, the player may follow the guidance of the entity known as The Atlas to head toward the centre of the galaxy.

  1. I know that it has been a long day for each of us. I screwed up that previous comment. The Purple System freighter warp shield takes Crystaline Heart, Antlantideum and regular Quartzite from a Purple System moon, not the Gas Giant. Still not hard, and I did not need to spend a Salvaged Frigate module to unlock the blueprint. It was given during the Autophage mission.

  2. so close, but so far! ive been asking for a multi tool display part for years, and thought i finally got one. it is what it says, storage. models dont change on the wall unit, i can live with that, but even hovering over the archived ones doesnt show the model, you have to manually drag them one at a time back into one of the 6 slots, assuming you have a free one , to see them. i filled one with 18 and then tried putting one in another unit and it gives an error message about being full. and to top it off, there is a bug that all tools show the same class as your primary one. i hope and prey we can get them to somehow change this so we can DISPLAY tools, not just chuck them in the cupboard. ive got hundreds ive found and all ive wanted to do for years is build a base to display them all, had a heart attack when i read the patch notes this morning, and now, well, im kinda just crushed. the dream has for now been well and truly smashed. it was the first thing i tried when i got on today off all the new content, so i guess i can take some consolation that i can go off and do some of the new content if i dont put my extremely frustrated fist thru the monitor first.

  3. a pet pen on a freighter would be great and being able to lock your pets up in pens or have them roam around the ship and spawn in to greet when you enter your capital ship I bet a lot of folk would like that πŸ™‚

  4. I personally think the off center camera is intentional…. to make it easier to actually see around in third person without the player character taking up so much space…. especially when said character can have that winged jetpack (aeron turbojet i think its called) … also i believe the new archiving ability COULD maybe be used to re sort equiptment and ships…. because i have only three multitools i have my main one… then my staff and then my normal non atlantid one…. but that wasnt how i wanted them so i used the rack to change how they were stored….. im thinking of doing that with my ships and seeing if it works there….. on a different note its sad that the gas giants arent different sizes…. what i mean is theyre ground height is just normal terrain just with heavy thick storms…. id have loved to see the sizes be different so you could have a smaller surface deeper into the actual giant than others which are like the ones we have now…. just a little nitpick i have…. but overall i actually LOVED making the new worlds in the mission… parts actually gave me goosebumps…. especially when a certain something thanked me….. trying not to spoil that just in case anyone hasnt done the mission yet…. but overall i actually like the update more than i expected…
PS: oh also the technology for the freighter purple drive is instantly unlocked… i tried to build it as soon as i got the normal blueprint and it needed the new ground resource thats not on gas giants…. also… boundary failiures still do nothing sadly as i found one IN one of the new systems in euclid…. nothing happened but normal diologue…. (well i think it was normal because i barely actually see those things)
PPS: sorry for the long comment too… had so much to say and i really wanted to say it….. and as always keep up the amazing work… love watching your videos as they are really helpful.

  5. Yeah, i can play NMS again. I had filled my slots and thus exploring became pointless as i explored for new ships, but this update makes exploring fun not just for ships and multi tools but also to see the new flora and fauna. Well done Hello Games

  6. And what happens to the technology modules when you archive? Is it completely empty after restoring from the archive? My starships are all perfectly upgraded and i dont want to lose the upgrade configuration.

  7. I have had a problem with my sentinel ship actually hitting the sides of the freighter when I am being brought in for landing. Now I know why. Thanks for such a simple informative video Cap'n!
