u can get the ally rn at rog.gg/NoodleAllyX if u want….
I don't know if it was intentional but when you compared the two ways to talk about Skyrim it seemed like a parallel to the Halo Anniversary video. Your example of how not to write reminded of that video specifically at certain points. At the time I loved the video and still do but I do understand that video had flaws that it seems that you have taken note of. It's been nice growing into a young adult with your videos since it seems like your lessons of analyzing critically has been gradual and has been a nice way to learn for my own analysis. Loved the video and glad to see more from you. 🙂
Bro got the shaggy fit fr
I think you took that video a bit too personally. Most people liked it, dude.
Oh, THIS is why people hate Arin so much.
Certainly explains why people hate his takes on Sonic games.
Sometimes i go back to sequelitis as a comfort series
I love OoT and i love the Zelda sequelitis. Everyone I know who likes OoT, ALSO likes the Zelda sequelitis. Where are all these supposed people who are upset at a comedy internet video??
I don't understand why we're treating it like academia. It's from the pov of a raging gamer living in a world where people are showering one game with unending praise, and he wants to tear it down.
The Zelda vid is funny, it's entertaining, and this whole thing is just not that serious
Dude no one cares
Well that's like your opinion man.
First video of noodles that I'm not excited to rewatch. Topic sounds broad, then it's really just arin shouldn't have made those two jokes, and then usually noodle makes me laugh but not so much in this one. Especially given the acknowledgment that arin broke ground on at home arm chair game designer critique vids, like how can you be this critical about someone making a new format. Would have been better to talk about the generational differences in game critiques maybe anchored by arins vid but not focusing on it. You do make a valid point, its why NFTs, while able to be fucking anything, stuck to ugly ass bored apes and shitty images, they were initially presented in that format.
Wait, what’s wrong with Egoraptor? Did he do something? It wasn’t for touching kids was it?
I love OoT and i didn't grow up with it. I love arins zelda sequelitis, i love thinking about his point and occasionally disagreeing with him. I love that this video explored that too.
This is a neat video but it isn't at all what I expected. Discussions around games from audiences are more toxic and bad faith than ever, and are often clouded by external biases like racism and sexism (which is sometimes obfuscated to seem more legitimate, sometimes not). I kind of expected this video to be addressing where we're currently at rather than address a 10 year old video about a game that was 15 years old at the time. While I agree with a lot of what you said here about that video, I feel like we're collectively SO FAR BEYOND this weird little landmark of negativity that addressing it just feels like an admission that you think about tis video way more often than you really should. If that's the case, I hope this was cathartic and helpful. Sometimes you just gotta get it all said so you can stop workshopping your arguments in the shower. I've been there. But perhaps there's perhaps an argument to be made that egoraptor set the stage for people discussing games in more detail AND simultaneously set the stage for people using that new critical vocabulary in bad faith, I don't know. All I know is that his video seems positively tame now.
Your interpolation video is your best video.
Holy shit, I had my phone on auto play whilst driving and had to listen to this loser bullshit for 25 minutes. I just want to be clear that the purpose of your video is to critique a 10+ year old video of a grown man critiquing videogames… Yeah this is the gayest thing I have ever heard in my life. I've been to Gay Bars and not heard anything this gay before.
Did you know you can actually play video games? Like seriously, I just found this out a few days ago. You don't need to be a video essay youtuber with a subscription to Adobe premeire, a blue yeti microphone to play video games.
Apparently, you can just pay money (or steal them) for video games and play them yourself. What's more, sometimes people can actually just be wrong about games being good or bad. Yes, even the ha ha spaghetti boi with the popsicle stick puppets who I am told is an animator. Yes, I am still angry you tricked me to watch Hackers and I want my two hours back.
I think the problem lies more in the minority of gamers (people) who can't ignore or get past silly little jabs at their flawed personas. Its the internet, you're going to run into hate.. get over it. Just like in the real world. Ying and yang and all that.
You're not wrong though Noodle, which is the best kind of right. He could have done better. Would you have at your mid 20's on the internet in early 2010s? Hard to say.
6:51 “Sun Tzu said that!”-soldier
I love your content noodle but I sadly dont find any value on this video, you rant about a guy with a critique video of something outside its original context because the game is old. And your video feels very similar, citiquing a guy of a different era. you are beating the dead horse here 😅
I just wanna say, I really really like how the drawings on the stick are more aggressively colored the more intense the emotion is
this shit is why I can't watch Stephanie Sterling anymore. Every video that glorified DramaTM Channel puts out is either banging the same drum they've been doing since 2013, making inflammatory hot takes, and follow up videos TO those hot takes where they double down and call everyone who disagrees with them an idiot and an asshole
Good videos usually but this ones just a complete dud, looking forward to your next one.
Ranting about a rant, video essay Ouroboros
Just wanna say that I love your format, dude. Your old TV sponsors make me even question if they are real sponsors or another bit lmao
Hi 🙂
Does anyone actually get offended by the depiction of some group as like "gross weird internet troll?" I feel like that's the most parodied depiction in existence at this point, and it's not really offensive at all. Anyone should be able to recognize that there are some people like that even in stuff you like. Every fanbase has its weirdos who argue with everyone and I don't think pointing that out is depicting the entire base that way nor alienating people, at least it shouldn't.
Noodle I think you just have beef with a 10 year old egoraptor video
Dude… you’re the homunculus :/
Why is paper shaggy cursing at me
IDK man, I think that the whole premise of this video falls apart when you just don't put yourself in the place of the "strawman" that he made at the start of that video. Even though I'm the gamer that didn't see any issues with the game he was critiquing, and loved it very much, consider myself still a fan and consider it one of the more important games of its time as it helped pioneer a genre, but, I wasn't the guy ready to type up a "counter argument" to his video before even watching it, and that, is the strawman that he was portraying, not us fans of the game that he's out to "convince".

Arin was right
See i love Skyrim its a fun game I am a Bethesda fan. But I can remove my bias and accept the flaws you presented no matter the cadence in which you presented them.
Yeah it's rough Shaggy…
