  2. He didn't cover dominant eye. My problem is I have co-dominant eyes. Your supposed to shoot with both eyes open but when I do I see two guns and two sets of sights and they are transparent so it get very disorienting and I can't seem to master it. I got a red dot and my shooting has drastically improved. I can keep both eyes open. I still see two guns but I just have to put one of the red dots on the target and shoot. I still need to master iron sights somehow.

  3. Any advice for an old guy who has trouble getting a clear view of my iron sights? It seems like I can focus on the front sight and get a clear view, but then my rear sight is out of focus or visa versa. Same with the target. Clear picture on the target = fuzzy sights? Great explanation in the video!

  4. I've spent a year mastering iron sights , and doing very well ,. Everyone says dots sights are faster , so I got them installed on my favorite two guns. And I suck ! it's nearly like starting over . I didn't expect it would be that much different, it's mostly from press out , my sight picture isn't there till I'm fully extended . With irons I would get my front sight between my eye and target as I pressed out , and build the picture. That doesn't work with the dot , I can't get the picture on the way OUT , only at full extension. Alot more training to do !

  5. May be a dumb question, but why not just make the front site just thick enough so if you see any space on either side, you know your off to the left or right, and if you adjust for windage then you can also use the space as a guide also. I don’t know the math and trigonometry and all that stuff, I’m just wondering the why or why not of that particular idea

  6. How do you know if the red not high or low when there is no reference, if the dot is 1/32 low you will miss the bulls-eye and the same thing if its too high. How can you tell.

  7. I trained in iron sights so I prefer them. Why? Because I can see both front and rear sight immediately when I bring my pistol up to my sight picture (front sight alignment). I also have a red dot. When I bring that sight up, I can’t see the dot bc the nose of the pistol is misaligned. I have to move the pistol around, side to side, or move nose up/down, in order to find the dot. It’s frustrating and I lose seconds that I may not have when situation presents itself. IMO during combat, iron sights are my friend. Good video 👍Sub’d

  8. Took my cousin to shoot her new pistol and realized although she was right handed, her dominant eye was her left eye! (Using iron sights). Work in progress. I wonder if a red-dot would help. Her left eye is clearly dominating!
