After the genocide in Rwanda and atrocities in Srebrenica, Bosnia, in the 1990s, the world had vowed “never again.” Then came the crisis in Darfur. By the time the FRONTLINE documentary “On Our Watch” premiered in late 2007, the Sudanese government and Janjaweed militias had waged a brutal campaign against rebel groups and civilians in Darfur for four years. Even by the most conservative estimate, at least 200,000 people had been killed by then and 2.5 million driven from their homes. FRONTLINE examined how the international community and the U.N. responded as the crisis unfolded and why — after Rwanda and Srebrenica — they once again failed to stop the slaughter.

  3. UN is so unbelievably useless 🤢🤮
War in Ukraine is another example. A permanent member of the UN Security Council attacked another country …and still remains in the Security Council. How f**d up is that?!

  4. Around 2010, I was in a homeless shelter. There was a woman there with her 5 kids. She told me of the horrors that she had gone through in Darfur. After being gang raped, and then walking to "safety," she found her husband. When she told him of her living hell, he turned around and walked away from her and the children. She was the strongest person I have ever met. Her children were in their teens and were an absolute delight. I don't know if I could ever have that kind of strength.

  5. THE REASON WHY THEY , the UN DID NOTHING TO INTERVENE , IS BECAUSE CHINA IS NOW A SUPER POWER AND FOR CHINA, STOPPING THE GENOCIDE WOULD’NT BE IN THEIR BEST INTEREST. THEY SAW IT AS CLEARING THE LAND OF ITS INHABITANTS FOR THEM CONTINUE THE OIL EXPLOITATION AND CONSUMPTION.China has shown the world over and over again that global strategic placement and power is more important to them than human rights . We’ve experienced COVID-19 , Sudanese GENOCIDE, WEIGHER POPULATION INTERNMENT AND EXPLOITATION, animal rights VIOLATIONS and CRUELTY. These SAVAGES HAVE BEEN /DONE NOTHING BUT HARM TO THE PLANET. They are a INTOLERABLE country , the sacredness of LIFE means very little to them if you’re not CHINESE and even if you’re Chinese, that has very little deterrent.
