In Ukraine, it’s become known as “the Holodomor,” meaning “death by starvation.” It was a genocide carried out by a dictator who wanted to keep Ukraine under his control and who would do anything to keep it covered up for decades.
In the 1930s, Soviet leaders under Joseph Stalin engineered a famine that killed millions as they sought to consolidate agricultural power. In Ukraine, they used additional force as they sought to clamp down on a burgeoning Ukrainian national identity. There, at least 4 million died. As hunger spread among residents, Stalin spearheaded a disinformation campaign to hide the truth from other Soviet citizens and the world. So many Ukrainians died that officials had to send people to resettle the area, setting off demographic shifts that last to this day.

The English translation of Ukrainian historian Stanislav Kulchytsky’s “The Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine: An Anatomy of the Holodomor” was crucial for context for this piece. https://holodomor.ca/the-famine-of-1932-1933-in-ukraine-an-anatomy-of-the-holodomor-by-stanislav-kulchytsky/

To think the system that allowed the Holodomor to happen is wanted by so many misguided, young people in the west. Including those who use Vox as their primary source of news.
HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF !!! Only this time they're doing it worldwide and the USA government is part of it. !!! This video needs to be shown to all DEMONcrats and liberals ! Socialism / Marxism / Communism is all the same thing ! It doesn't work and it's all about wealth and power ! Wake up ! This same exact thing ( attack of food production, lies and disinformation ) is happening in America and the government is coming for us ALL unless we stop it ! Don't fall for the lies. !!!
Which ethnic groups/tribes he killed most in Ukraine…did he spared any particular tribes?just wana know this
This is factually mistaken
And yet people want to try communism/socialism again.
The famine hit also Poland and Romania as well.
The collectivisation was done everywhere in USSR. It did not happen over night. It continued all thru 30s. The famine was everywhere in the USSR. It was caused by wheat desease, that's why it hit mostly at the wheat producing south. The so called kulaks were hit everywhere in USSR.
The whole thing was not targeted at Ukraine only. This is just todays politics. It was in whole USSR and all peoples in USSR suffered from it. Even in Poland and Romania people suffered from that famine.
Communism was a great theory . Stalin ruined it
STALIN WAS RIGHT TO REACT SO. The rich farmers kulak, wanted to sell at high prices and make profit and delay the industrialisation program. All others Russian farmers who worked at the collective agriculture kolhoz, had no starving problem. They worked at their posts and ate also there at a work break. Those who wanted profit at the expenses of the Revolution, starved, they chose it themselves. Stalin was right to go ahead so decisively, he left an empire behind him. IMMORTAL !!
@0:54 Crimea is also PART OF UKRAINE
Bolshevik USSR is despised Putin’s Russia and rightly so. If this video is the most you’ve learned about the Holomodor and you see Stalin and Putin as two of the same you are very easily led.
I hope 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 one day will be respected also for its own rich history and culture. The original "men who row"
It reminds me of the famine in China under Mao Zedong
Communism. Works great.
Hmmm, pretty much what the WEF as well a many politicians doing currently.
🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
They deserved it
It's funny when westerners believe in lies about USSR 👍
Stalin is Gondon!!!
based!
There was a reason why so many Ukrainians greeted the German Wehrmacht soldiers as liberators
🇮🇱💛💙🇺🇦
And there are people who idealise him. SMH
you forgot to mention dovid braunsteim a.k.a. "leon trotsky" when mentioning the holodomor. trotsky was known as the butcher of the ukraine. information about that is censored by the perpetrators.
The vast majority of academic consensus was that the famine did not constitute a genocide. These would include the work of R.W. Davies and Stephenwheatcroft in their book The Years of Hunger, Soviet Agriculture 1931-1933 where they point out a number of aspects of the famine which proved that the famine was the result of unintentional policy decisions. This is made evident in the fact that they cite 35 different instances of which the Soviet government provided secret-grain relief to the Ukraine. They also noted the slow decline of agricultural production through 1928-1932 as occurring due to a wider drought which was affecting the Asian Steppe, with Kazakhstan being the worst hit in terms of population loss (though no one calls the Kazak famine a genocide).
The bolstering of the idea of the famine as genocide has come from the Ukrainian government forcing the narrative on various academics within its realm following the illegal dissolution of the USSR.
(This is, in no way, an affirmation of the modern activities of the Imperialist Russian state, but rather a direct response to calling the Ukrainian famine of 1931-1933 a genocide).
Stalin was one sick human, it's like to be a ruler in Russia (or soviet union) u have to be a homicidal maniac
It is interesting that Stalin was a Georgian
Please come out with the Bengal famine also…UK did the same to India and several other countries in asia and africa!!
Communism is synonymous with famine genocide
this looks familiar
A ruler killing his own citizens…..so sad…..it's unbelievably evil……I m crying 😭😭😭
Primera vez que vox tiene buen contenido.
Голодомор в Поволжье был намного ужаснее..

Thank you.
I am currently reading a book by Anne Applebaum titled 'Red Famine – Stalin's War on Ukraine'. Much more depth on this history. Thank you for this documentary which gave me visual images of thee events. I fear history will repeat itself in the near future around the world in our time.
The Ukrainian people have been through things that no human beings should ever have to experience. My heart is with them.
the main problem is that Muscovy is a badly outdated Genghisid ( Mongol ) empire….
Please try and source photos and videos from Kazakhstan about their famine. There are many documentaries now on YouTube about the Ukraine "Holodomor" but very little about the horrors Kazkhs went through under Stalin.
Ukrainian people are saying that the USA started the conflict
This is possibly how the donbas became russian
