How SpaceX’s Starship IFT-2 will change everything? NASA is shocked…
The moment SpaceX received the official license to conduct the second orbital test flight, everything seemed to explode because the months of waiting for this flight were over.
In the past seven months, although there have been many changes, this flight status has never lost its attraction. Whether it is a small change, upgrade or reveal from Starbase, it also receives the attention of the aerospace industry in particular and the public in general.
It is truly rare for a flight to receive as much attention as Starship’s second orbital test flight. But that is understandable because this flight plays an extremely important role in the future of the aerospace industry.
So how important is this flight? Why could it impact the aerospace industry in the future?
Stay tuned as we dive and more in this episode of Alpha Tech!

  1. Yes, "game over"!

NASA is indeed shocked because, once FAA granted the launch license SpaceX was supposedly eagerly awaiting, SS/SH turned out not to be ready for launch after all. NASA hoped they won't see the repeat of countless delays in the vein of Vulcan, SLS or Starliner…

  2. Look, it's a test flight and whatever happens during this next launch is beneficial exploring engineering limits. If anyone is expecting this next launch to be perfect is not living in reality. Look for the next 3 or 4 launches to help push the envelope further downwind. If something goes as planed then great but they learned nothing then they have to wait until something does break in order to improve or fix it.

  3. I'm not too worried… Engines should be way more reliable, and they have gone electrical on gymballing. And its a sure bet they tested all the moving parts stuff plenty.
The rest is pretty much pots and pans level tech.
And personally I'm glad the Chinese are getting a serious space program.
It might wake up the bureaucrats some.
Fifty years without a reliable space program, and $30 Trillion plus in debt, tells me that representitive government is a Dinosaur. Then theres the inflation factor, I was around in the early 1960's and people had way better lives than now, life wasn't an open mental institution…
Basically everybody worked their lives away since, and got poorer.
Its time for serious changes, and time to seriously open up the new frontier.
Its amazing what one man with a brain and money has accomplished.
Makes me suspect everybody else with money lacks the brain.
That we are voting for Morons to make the important decisions, and its only getting worse.
In fact, its so bad, the birth rate is collapsing world wide. And that will be our biggest limit expanding into space.
Homo Sapiens? Wise Humans? so far no evidence for that statement.
Hopefully this launch will wake people up to our actual potential, And realize there are better things to spend money on than vanity Burb houses.
I see the potential with what Elon is proving out, to make Space accessible to common man, just like back yard yacht building now. Going to fabrication changes everything. And prices will be coming down on engines. In fact thats one of Elon's goals.
Also with his work in robotics, Societies without poverty are distinctly possible. Space may become affordable for anyone who cares.
Space ship construction may be a free download app for your robots. Or somebody might go into mass production for orbital vacation yachts.
But first we have to survive the buffoons of bureaucracy… Who seem to screw up everything possible.

  4. Musk is not primarily working the Starship program in order to support NASA or particularly Artemis. Musk is SELF FUNDING the Starship in order to create a ship to colonize MARS. While they can create and support the moon mission, that is not his aim.

BTW, if you think Artemis will not be delayed by at least two years, you are crazy!! Based on current overspending, I will be surprised that it's not dropped entirely.

  5. I wonder if SpaceX would’ve been better off selling tickets to space for tourists instead of trying to create Starlink? I mean they’re already thinking of replacing all those already there… not good. But there are a lot of millionaires ready to go up there! Strange…
I’m afraid that SpaceX should’ve kept the design of Falcon9 but applied to a bigger rocket with Raptors and then build up the monster with 3 boosters that could house more Raptors than this design and on top of that, you still have boosters with landing capabilities and forget about catching anything and forget about refueling also because of a second stage ( disposable) but my smaller Starship wouldn’t need refueling! He he…

  6. You're pretty loose with how you word things. The first flight absolutely was a success – per Elon Musk! HIS expectation was "if it clears the tower before it blows up (notice he expected it to blow up), we will consider the test a success". Everything after clearing the tower was icing on the cake. It may not have lived up to YOUR expectation, but the only opinion that matters is the man who owns the vehicle and HE was over the moon satisfied with the flight.
