How SpaceX Launchpad Aftermath After Starship Launch Attempt 4 Will Blow Your Mind!low Your Mind!
Yesterday’s launch of Starship was undeniably a triumph, shaking the entire space industry and shocking government agencies and competitors worldwide. While the rocket itself has garnered immense interest, many are also curious about the condition of the launch pad after enduring the tremendous power of 32 Raptor engines, as clearly visible in the live broadcast video from the Super Heavy booster.
So, in today’s episode of Alpha Tech, let’s explore the aftermath of the SpaceX launch pad following Starship Launch Attempt 4. Its intact condition is sure to blow your mind!

The launch pad is an extremely crucial component, supporting the liftoff of Starship into space. It serves as both a support base and a foundation, ensuring the rocket stands upright and maintains a safe distance between its engines and the ground. Beyond this functionality, the engineering structure of the launch pad is complex. It combines with the launch tower to form one of the most intricate physical bases of stage zero. Therefore, ensuring the safety of this component is highly prioritized by SpaceX.
It’s wonderful that after this latest launch, we can see that the launch pad and adjacent launch tower still look quite good—good enough that another Starship launch could be conducted immediately.

Beneath the base of the Starship launch pad, we noticed that although SpaceX added thicker steel plates for protection, the current condition of the launch pad base has significantly eroded due to the heat from the 33 Raptor engines. This has caused the steel panels to become thinner, with a clear difference in color visible.
Meanwhile, the surrounding areas affected by Starship’s launch only suffered moderate scorching. Overall, this is not a major issue for SpaceX, and it does not pose a significant challenge for them to resolve.
What they are more concerned about is the Ship QD. In the third launch of Starship, the Ship QD, due to slow movement, was affected by the enormous energy of the Booster, causing it to tilt. However, for the fourth launch, it seems this part is still fine, and I didn’t even see a single burn mark on it.

  1. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT STARSHIP ! OF COURSE THE CHOPSTICKS WILL WORK PERFECTLY WHEN CATCHING THE BOOSTER ! IT'S REALLY NOT THAT DIFFICULT FOR ELON AND HIS TEAM ! WE'RE GOING TO BE ON THE MOON WITH A CREW WHEN 16 MONTHS ? YEAH BABY !!!!!

  2. funny, the way people try to change the main subject. For many years there is little to no importance to a booster or launch pad, it’s the science or payload of the mission that’s important. The real issue to me is the lack of scientific focus.
The booster recovery is a secondary economic subject. Important yes, top of the list no. You can’t use the recovered booster anyway without significant refurbishing. Ask for a picture or cost of the recovered equipment and how much is usable. In the meantime no one asked about the payload progress. 😂

  3. Shocked? At what? The cost of the litter scattered acrossed two oceans? And for what? What have we gained out of the "starship" launches that wasn't previously being accomplished. Maybe, someday, starship wil be a useful launch platform, but will it beat Tesla's FSD to usefullness? Problably, but right now it is an overweight under producing waste, all at taxpayer's expense. Shill much?

  4. I have pointed out repeatably in the past that SpaceX made a mistake by not using an exhaust deflection chamber, multiple launches will attrite the launch platform on an ongoing basis and ongoing maintenance will create delays and extra costs.

  5. The Biden administration is doing everything to promote the Chinese communist agenda, to make America last, to give the lead to China in every front, including science and space exploration.
Landing the starship on the ocean is a gift to China. The Indian navy reported that the Chinese submarines have already started salvaging operations to take the Starship out of the ocean.
Biden is trying to start WW3, so that he can declare martial law and stop the election and prevent trump from taking office.

  6. Save lifetime, start at 1:03. Until then the speaker is basically saying that it is bad if the launch pad would be damaged. Starting at approx. 3:00 you learn that it was damaged and repaired previously, and it is very important that it is in good condition, and that SpaceX must test it therefore, and they plan to fly to the moon, and Starship is the most powerful rocket of the world. So if you never followed the news, this video really Will Blow Your Mind.

  7. Hold on now. Dream Chaser is owned by Sierra Nevada ! They are paid by NASA to deliver goods to ISS, and return other minor items to earth. It is hoped it it will eventually be tested and certified for crew .

  8. You mentioned "mistakes". There were no mistakes other than your characterizing the Scientific Method as a process of mistakes. A mistake would be if they filled the fuel tanks with chocolate milk.
