  1. If you don't want to play on harder difficulties because your time is precious, why play games at all? It's such a waste of time read a book or watch a documentary, like Ken Burns' 'Bicycles.

    I'm just messing with you, I don't care, play however you want. ( Unfortunately, there's no Ken Burns documentary about bicycles.)

  2. Saw a review that said the game is easy, but they failed to mention that hard mode was a thing so I'm super happy to hear about it. The tone of of your video made it feel a bit like you were being condescending toward higher difficulties though which is a bit disappointing.

    Regardless I appreciate the info. There are a lot of games that I desperately want to enjoy but can't due to them being too easy for me. Knowing that there is a hard mode and several parameters I can alter makes me way more excited about Palworld. Thanks!

  4. Am i going to be able to catch one of the earlier pals & just stick with over leveling it to endgame? Make it my anime Pikachu?

    Only catch others for mounts & factory work & such.

    Ill look into the breeding later, thats the most intriguing thing to me.

  5. Great video Your perspective as a Monster-Taming game fan has been really valuable because I think this is a Survival game which draws Monster Game fans and that is a diffferent audience than Survival game fans generally.

    I recall for Ark having to increase the taming timer and even in that taking 20+ minutes to tame a dinosaur that died pretty quickly was agonizing, I look forward to adjusting the settings hear to keep the game challenging but engagin …. Also I want to make sure Night is like Half as long as day is haha.

  6. i'm not gonna lie, I'll be on an Easy server. I'm too old for the rush-to-your-dead-body thing. Easy mode sincerely seems to make it into /more/ of a mon game. I love that option being there

  7. It just blows my mind that Exp. Rate can be multiplied by 20. That's nuts. This comes out like…6 days before the calendar day that another, totally different game I am really looking forward to launches: Tekken 8. So, I think I'll go ahead and appreciate this rare opportunity. Feels like a cheat code honestly, and 0.1 Hunger Depletion and Stamina Reduction Rates? Very fun. Even more excited for this than I already was. For me, in Eastern time, it is just two 3:00 AMs away! So…a little under 36 and a half hours. A day and a half!

  8. If Im playing on an offline world alone or with my friends, can I change difficulty and custom settings mid-run or is it like V-rising where you have to decide when that world as generated and cant ever change it?

  9. I've been watching your videos for a bit (sorry for not subbing until now) but I am in that hybrid between Monster Taming Game Fan and Survival Game Fanatic. So I'm super excited to see this. I also saw that there are base levels. I hope that if not now, but in the future, we can tweak it so we can raise our base levels faster but keep our regular EXP gain normal since I don't want to be max level after an hour in-game, but I also don't want to grind out for 40 hours to get to base level 7 or something like that.

  10. Idk how I feel about how they did difficulty. There are a lot of games that sort of do it the opposite way. Harder difficulties usually ramp up damage taken and make enemies harder BUT give you more xp/loot than normal to reward you for playing harder difficulty modes. This just makes the grind worse which honestly is kinda ass lol

  11. If you set the difficulty and then go look at custom settings. The settings will be set to that difficulty and that was what I was hoping to see in this video. Showing exactly what was different. As I'm probably gonna play on hard cause I have a feeling that is the authentic palworld experience from what I have seen so far and what servers are going to be set too. As the first npc talks about how all the others in his expidition were eaten. As I wish this dialogue changed on different difficulties. Cause I know that isn't really happening on normal or easy and I also wish for the game to have a reward for playing on more difficult settings.

    To make players challenges themselves. Otherwise I really don't like difficulties in games. As I'm fine with a story difficulty for people who just want to enjoy the story. My biggest gripe with server based games are these settings. That essentially let's people ruin the games for themselves. Setting everything to astronomical numbers and just getting bored real fast. So I wish and hope the game adds systems to reward for playing without heavily editing the settings or to give you more for having harsher settings. Like stronger pals or better chances for Lucky pals. As most games that don't have difficulty settings just do better and have more interest and if they do have difficulty settings. The ones like Dead Space 2 or Remnant which reward you for harder gameplay is the way to go. As I hate playing the game too hard if there is no incentive, but also hate playing it too easy making the normal gameplay not feel very strong or engaging. So I always find myself deterred by difficulty settings. Trying to decide what I can set it too. To have the most fun.

    Imagine pokemon just being a game where it took one pokeball to catch everything. You one-shot every enemy. Your pokemon took next to no damage. Gaining a full level for fighting pokemon that are lvl 1 at lvl 80. Where would be the fun in that. There just wouldn't be. As why it's pointless for pokemon to have these settings and would only hurt the game if it did.

  12. i think part of the reasons games suck, is streamers themselves…. how to get o.p. early and guides to teach us the meta loud out on cod warsone or "Builds" on the division have changed the games from build your best to, go online and just copy the best builds…. then on the otherside, the ppl who make the games think, wow alot of players are beating out content easily so the next DLC lets structure the game around those kinds of players….. which further degrades player agency, and forces us to play with META BUILDS…. you destroyed gaming…. anyways im hyped about this game now ed…. thankyou for killing me.

  13. Hmm… I will probably be going Hard mode for the challenge.

    I see a lot of comments saying why make a game harder if you don't get rewarded for it being harder.. Its kind of just a mental challenge that is rewarding mentally knowing you just beat a boss when odds weren't in your favor. Facerolling through a game can get very stale in my PERSONAL opinion.

    Also the time sensitivity has been accounted for, I love gaming so time won't be an issue. HOWEVER I know a lot of people out there have a family to take care of and bills to maintain, I'm very glad Casual is an option since a lot of games aren't very "Busy life" friendly.

    I love both Pokemon and Ark. However I have to admit Pokemon games have gotten pretty brain dead lately. I remember them being more challenging in the early gens 1-3. Nuzlocke challenges pretty much saved Pokemon for me but I'm super glad something like this is coming out. Can't wait to hop on tonight!

  14. I'm actually going to crank the settings up to hard and then turn down only a few things. For this being early access, I imagine a lower difficulty will have a lot of players blasting through everything that in the EA too quickly and get burnt on it before a week is even up. Theres not enough building pieces and stuff to go hard in building, I heard the dungeons are pretty repetitive too. So in order to make my game last a bit I'll drag it out through some of the gathering mechanics and making the pals harder to catch, also make the pals more spongey and hit harder to add to the difficulty, kinda like a souls like Pokemon feel lol, but get rid of the losing all pals on death, thats just a little too brutal lol. Looking forward to this game for sure.

  15. Is there an option to disable permadeath on your pals?

    I've heard that by default they just "faint" in battle but die if their sanity runs out while working at your base. Are their alternative penalties for running out of sanity?
