How Russia sidesteps the EU oil embargo with aging tankers | DW Business

The European Union has long relied on sea deliveries to receive the bulk of its Russian oil imports.
Beginnning Monday, those shipments fall under embargo and will stop by early January, following a grace period. Many Russian oil tankers are now heading toward Asia.
But can Asia make up the difference? In October, Russia exported almost 8 million barrels of crude oil and oil products, such as diesel, per day. Two and a half million of that went to the European Union, the bulk of it transported by sea. Thatโ€™s down from before the war.
Crude exports have recently surged to other countries, especially India and China. In October alone, Russia transported the equivalent of 1.1 million barrels of crude to India every day. In January, it was just a mere 100,000 barrels. Crude exports to China have also increased.
Many experts believe that as the embargo approaches, Russia is gearing up to ship more and more crude directly to Asia.

  1. Dat is vrij simpel op te lossen. Een organisatie beginnen waar de hele wereld lid van kan worden. Die begint een investeringsmaatschappij en wij kopen al dat olie voor 160 euro a barrel and trade.

The United States claims that the deployment of missile defense in Eastern Europe is not directed against Russia – the deployment of missile defense in Europe is directed against Russia.

The West claims that the Minsk Agreement is the only way to peace – the West uses the Minsk Agreements to prepare for a big war in Ukraine.

The United States and NATO declare that against nuclear escalation – the Zelensky regime controlled by the United States and NATO is firing at the Zaporozhye NPP.

The US and NATO declare that they do not seek a direct war with Russia – you are here

  6. Once super power Russia use to supply oil and gas to many countries due to sanctions and because is falling apart.
Russia now sells oil by moving country to country otherwise Russia won't survive, this shows how powerful is the west and US, this is big disgrace for Russia

  7. What EU knows beside more sanctions? Well, next sanction package would be on all those countries that buy from Russia……then EU wakes up one day, chilled to the bone, no food on table and no jobs.

  9. The EU countries are trapped in the destruction of their countries as a result of following America's economic political interests, but do not want to save their citizens from economic downturn. America's puppet state, namely the EU, will be made economically, politically, securityally, etc. dependent by American businessmen and economists, that's why the sanctions against Russia are actually intended to separate cooperation between the EU and Russia so that EU countries depend on America.

  10. India & China has potential to subside European Oil Embargo on Russia………
India & China needs open competitive oil market outside OPEC Cartel………
This Oil Embargo is out of proportion remedy as economic sanction……

  11. This is overhyped. Everyone says Russia does not have the ships. Well their crooked customers can and will send the ships to pick up the cheap oil. Russia never did have the ships. Not as big a deal as the media hypes it to be.

  12. The International Northโ€“South Transport Corridor is a 7,200-km-long multi-mode network of ship, rail, and road route for moving freight between India, Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe. The route primarily involves moving freight from India, Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia via ship, rail and road. It will bypass everything and all the sanctions and is a shorter route to Indian ocean. Good luck west!
