How NATO airpower could keep Putin out of Ukraine for good | Frontline Air Power Panel

“Part of this process is achieving air superiority…then you begin to think about the surface to air missiles and then you begin to think about supporting troops on the ground.”

In Frontline’s air power panel, former F-16 pilot Ed Smith and former fighter pilot and military analyst Sean Bell discuss how Ukraine could use modern NATO fighters to gain air dominance over Russia.

  1. NATO Airpower would keep Putin OUT of Ukraine?
Do you guys have ANY idea of the highly advanced (not equivalent on NATO) Russian Air Defence Systems S350s, S400s and S500s?
No need at all to use the Su-57s, for instance…

  2. NATO is so scared of Russia in all side.Russia will defeat NATO today if war breaks out.USA understands this hence the proxy war.Russia has the best air defense system in the world and USA knows this.that is why they cannot send F16 or even raptor.

  4. bring on the nato air power in the ukraine, they have poked their noses in to a country, that is a non nato member, a non EU member, so what legal reason or excuse do they have to arm a country against another in this war, " NO REASON", Bring your planes on, and get ready to see them shot down as scrap metal,, history is on the russian side in this war, nato is the aggressor with obama, who we all know is hiding in bidens cellar giving instruction to the imbecile

  6. NATO knows damn well that Ukraine needs good aircraft. The sales and exchange of F16s are controlled by the US, who want to sell old aircraft to Ukraine. NATO is also guilty for helping to destroy Ukraine. Eurofighters, Rafaels, and, JAS 39 Gripens are just as good and, if not better than F16s. It is obvious that Ukraine 🇺🇦 has to wait for NATO members to upgrade their aircraft, so making F16s redundant. A pilot is a pilot and capable of the minimum of training updates. Zaha Ukraini ❤❤

  8. I cannot help wondering if this talk about F16s to Ukraine rather has to do with replacing losses running out of the supply of Mig29s etc than getting better planes just like with the western made tanks. Interesting how grand the talk is in the beginning and how cautious it is at the end. If Ukraine gets F16s before any cease fire, I am sure we will see a lot of them crashing to the ground being shot down. This is not the Gulf where these pilots have their experience from fighting an almost defenceless nation. Both in the Balkans and Irak F16s were shot down. I very highly doubt any western attempt to establish aerial superiority over Russia or Russian controlled territory will have any kind of success.

  9. F-16s will immediately be hit by Russia's S-400 air defence systems, and Russia is on the verge of introducing its fifth-generation jet fighters to the battlefield. Raptor would be a lot more efficient, but it's too complicated for Ukrainians to steer.

  10. Switching from MiG-31 to F-16 is a daunting challenge, if not for other reasons, then because of the language barrier and the logistics needed for F-16, which Ukraine lacks.

  11. Putin is showing a lot of restraint. Not like we did with The Bay of Pigs. This time, we are in the wrong, and Putin is still backing down. We, the US, and NATO agreed to stay out of Russia's back yard. But, the Biden's own Ukraine a lot of money for 2020.

  12. I've come to admire your Times Radio, so sophisticated, informative, and following this war which is understandable. The guests presented were knowledgeable, gave information that a laymen could understand and have the experience and actual warfare strategy that one makes confident that this war will be over soon. And as an aside, the UK along with NATO will deter any aggresions from the obvious foes on the horizon for the West. Thank God for UK as a loyal ally, and their capable armed forces and your excellent war coverage and war analysis from TIMES RADIO, my go to news . Hurrah from an America,🇺🇲🇬🇧 together.

  13. F16 will be nice practice for Russian surface to air missle systems and there state of the Art electronic hammers they will always see the F16 first as the interviewer stated who sees first usually wins unfortunately NATO is wasting more military hardware on delusions of grandeur.
