The war in Ukraine has forced Taiwan to re-focus on how it defends itself from a possible Chinese invasion.
In recent months, Beijing has stepped up military incursions into Taiwanโs Air Defense Identification Zone, raising alert levels on the island.
Taipei is now thinking of improving training for its nearly two million reserve force, investing in specialised weapons and civil defense. And thereโs also a greater willingness among people to be prepared to take up weapons should the time come.

Preventing WW3:
1. China will invade Taiwan at any cost.
2. US will defend Taiwan at any cost.
Solution: We welcome all Taiwanese to the US with their semiconductor industries. China cannot have them. No need WW3 between US and China. Everybody wins.
Simple military strategy 101, man. FIRST AND FOREMOST, the US both cannot and will not assist Taiwan UNLESS they specifically ask them to do so, regardless of any agreements previous. TAIWAN MAY NOT ASK FOR HELP. Consider the 'Lesser of Two Evils' Scenario. Should China invade, it might just be easier on the Taiwanese people to let them do so as the alternative is very messy and costly both financially and lifestyle-wise as ANYONE may or may not have notices with regards to the Russo-Ukrainian war currently happening. I know it's not the best-case scenario, but it's the one that damages the Taiwan way of life, ecology and infrastructure the least. This does NOT mean that China 'wins' anything. There will be repercussions. China, after all, is NOT above being sanctioned into oblivion by the US and the other NATO countries. China is NOT as financially secure or strong as they would lead the world to believe. If they do invade, they're in for a very long and miserable existence the likes of which they may never fully recover from. Xi should think it through from both a political and economical stand point as he does not speak for the Chinese business world, of that you can be assured. If he does command his forces to invade and they do, it will go down in the history books as 'Xi's Folly'.
I am a mainlander, and I hope Taiwan people stay safe. We don't want a war.
