How Jesus Christ Restores What Is Broken

Life often brings brokenness: broken dreams, broken marriages, and broken hopes. But as President Jeffrey R. Holland beautifully reminds us, the gospel of Jesus Christ turns even the most shattered pieces into something whole and complete.

Just as broken clouds nourish the earth and broken bread feeds us, our broken hearts, when offered to the Savior, are returned to us renewed and strengthened. Through His infinite atonement and sacrifice, we find healing, hope, and the promise of a brighter future. By embracing faith, humility, and a contrite spirit, we can experience wholeness and peace.

  1. I’ve been made whole multiple times through the Atonement and broken again. Each time I feel low and distant from heaven my testimony reminds me that I need to look for my savior. Each time he renews me, I learn and remember, I know he is near even when we feel lost or afraid, even if it’s due to our own choices.

  3. I’ve been struggling with ocd lately, and with that, anxiety, anger, feeling broken and ashamed. Every day is difficult, but every time I pray, when it feels unbearable, when I don’t know how to calm it, when I think each night that I don’t know how to keep this up day after day, I feel a little bit of peace. I’m reminded that I can keep going, with God’s help. I’m reminded that it’s hard but I’m not alone. I’m reminded that I’ve been through things before that I couldn’t see a way out of, and He showed me the way that I couldn’t have seen without Him. Those reminders help me hold onto my faith that He’ll help me through this, that He IS helping me through this.

  6. I thnk a lot of broken people will have to learn to cope and be stronger and more resilient until the resurrection, even when they've been hurt or harmed or marginalized. Hopefuly those people can do that with Jesus Christ and get to know Him like that.

  8. Good message. I was baptized and raised in the church. I don't go to church anymore, but still and always will, consider myself a Mormon. I always laugh when people get so bent out of shape about the church. Ex members, or people who just dont like mormons for whatever reason. Its simple
messages like this that anyone could take and learn from to better themselves and others around them, despite what or who they believe in. It's a simple message. Whats the harm in that?
