How Hard Will Elden Ring Be? | Elden Ring Gameplay Analysis | Final Chapter

For the last video before the release of Elden Ring, I want to talk about difficulty. I want to go over what I believe the difficulty of the game will be, alongside all of the tools that it gives us in order to overcome the challenges that it presents us. The most important thing is that everyone has the power to make the game less difficult. Everyone has the power to get good.

  1. I think the game will be easier than previous souls games because of the growing popularity of From Software. Players who enjoy extreme difficulty are fewer in number than the casual who disconnects when invaded or always needs a phantom to beat the boss. Mathematically speaking it makes more sense for From to please the more vast less quality of a player.

  2. One of the things I enjoyed about Sekiro’s design was the ability to heal on enemy kills (after unlocking the skill) letting you continue to explore and not worry so much about having to rest at bonfire/ sculpture to replenish your healing items. The flask mechanic in Elden Ring sounds like it’ll be similar to that on a weaker scale. I think DS3 also had something similar that would replenish flasks after killing certain enemies but it wasn’t very frequent. I Can’t wait for this game. I look forward to your future vids. You present the info on these games very well and I enjoy hearing your insights.

  3. Awesome presentation! I am a 56 year old lady who sucks at melee, but is very interested in improving my hand eye coordination. Hence I just bought Elden Ring. Your videos have made me less apprehensive about trying this game. Your advice is clear and makes sense. I love that you start with core/basic principles. In the future, would you consider making a video that offers loose generalizations as to when a player should run away from an engagement? How to recognize that a fight is lost before dying again? How to recognize a boss is too hard at the moment? Or perhaps consider reworking basic mechanics rather than just repeatedly dying to the same boss? Yeah, I know I'm gonna die. Might as well be practical about it though. 😊 Thank you so much. And have a great day.💓

  4. brilliant guide on the gameplay mechanics that would help players! Thank you Frowny for making this.

I was the kind of player who would hoard consumables and craftable items in other RPG games like potions etc. I want to try and change how I play and start using these craftable items in Elden Ring as they are easily farmable just by resting at Sites of Grace.

Personally, I am anxious the game would become much more easier as we get newer and better gear. I have never played other Fromsoft games so i am not familiar with how difficulty scales with progression.

  5. the range of difficulty I expect to be more dynamic than any soulsborne game before, there will be parts which will be easy, but I am expecting some bosses to be at least on level with Dark Souls 3 bosses, if you look at Margit, his quickness and variety of attacks, he is, even though an early boss and not one of the major foes, at least as tough as pontiff sulyvahn or even worse.

  6. I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this channel as I’ve pre ordered Elden Ring and it will be my first souls game.

You seem very knowledgeable about these types of games and you explain the mechanics in a way that is very understandable, I have a feeling I will be visiting this channel frequently to try and improve my knowledge and skill level

  8. Your videos are great and I hope you keep it up! Your "from the ground up" mentality does a great service to new players. I've been playing the series since 2009 and I really appreciate how your videos approach topics without a significant bias while presenting the information very professionally without judgement. I really look forward to your future videos!

  10. its like bloodborne..where you can beat the game without even delving into the chalice dungeons..but most of the op gems & additional difficult bosses are actually in the dungeons..so diving into it gives huge rewards
