To me, it's a Kong movie. Then u get ppl kdm saying godzilla is a huge part in the movie and all. It's a kong movie ft godzilla. I feel like everything leading up to this movie was a Kong movie. At the last minute, let's put godzilla in it and make him do nothing. This is a perfect reason why Kong and godzilla should not be in the same movie. Now, with all that said, gxk was great for action, but overall, I feel like it was two different movies in one, but it they were solo films they will do better
Yeah, I wish they stuck with the Godzilla species, Hopefully, there’s a workaround to keep the Godzilla species because I know Toho has strict rules about the IP, but hopefully they can negotiate so there’s a little more freedom
It’s like Deadpool and Wolverine in a way. Both stories had the “save the world” theme and characters (Godzilla & Kong along with Deadpool & Wolverine) who fight each other.
That Idiot Toho needs to stop, to us, its okay with Godzilla being a species, but to toho want Godzilla to be a alone kaiju unless we should tell Toho its going to be okay with Godzilla being a species then we should cannon the Zo Zla Halawa as villain GxK 3
For me honestly, the impact of the battles wasn't there. They all just swung around and did stuff, it didn't feel like when Godzilla and Kong teamed up on Mechagodzilla it just felt bland. Godzilla was also just a killing machine the entire time with no emotion and is just there as a plot device to help Kong.
If you can delete Godzilla 2014 and KoTM from your brain and watch Kong skull island, kong 2 (Gvk), and then Kong 3 (Gvk) the scaling is practically the same.. Most people going to watch these films haven’t heard of the concept art let alone laid eyes on it. Therefore, Godzilla soloing an army of Kongs is canon. The comics and novelizations aren’t canon either. Just something to squeeze a little more cash out of the die hard fans. Dagon isn’t canon. Legendary needs to better going forward at making a coherent well connected multiverse but that’s really difficult when they keep changing out the creative team. I’ll never get over KOTM starting off with a flashback to 2014, and the spikes being different than what they actually were in the 2014 movie!! That shit irks me bro
I mean Showa era had human death like Godzilla vs hedorah Godzilla vs mothra Ghidorah the three headed dragon Godzilla vs mecha Godzilla terror of mecha Godzilla Godzilla raid again gojira invasion of Astro monster
I really love this film it was fun and great action but I do hope in the next film we focus more on Godzilla than Kong because I feel like Godzilla was in the film to make more money and he didn’t have much of a role other than just fighting. And Idk why toho doesn’t want Godzilla to be a spices, I really wanted to see a flashback of his spices in the hollow earth but I hope they can work things out
If they make Godzilla as a species, it wouldn't make sense to call him the King of the Monsters. 1 Godzilla is enough. And I liked the movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
An explanation for this would be the Monsterverse movies are instead of making the monster fights from a human POV they make them from a titan/kaiju's POV
1:39 I agree with this, is not the same having a Godzilla with a clown face (yes, we have to admit that Godzilla Showa has a very goofy design) doing dropkicks and flying with his atomic breath, that having a Godzilla with a heavier and more "realistic" design doing similar stuff, it just doesn't fit…
3:09 And I agree with this too, GvK and GxK ruined the MV lore
Toho needs to let the MV Godzilla be its own thing. Him as a species is more interesting and add so much more mystery and lore than him just bringing balance to nature. Also same here, it kinda ruined the MonsterVerse for me but I’m still looking forward to what they’re doing next and hope they are bringing it back to basics from the first three movies since the next movie is going up against Sonic.
Here it is almost a year after the movie came out and people still want to pry at this movie. This movie gives you destruction, multiple monster fights, a new Godzilla form(him killing 2 monsters), Mothra appears and meets up with Kong for the first time, hollow earth people civilization that worship the titans, new monsters Shimo/Skar King, zero gravity battle, and half of the movie with no people taking time away just monsters emoting back and forth. Does the The New Empire have emotional depth, no cause it doesn't need to be like 2014, or KOTM. 2014 was so dark you couldn't see anything and Godzilla was so slow you might as well watch it on 0.25x, and KOTM was too much for its budget worth to pay off so its better to use original monsters. So this video is redundant The New Empire is a monster movie that only comes along once for 2-3 years. And everybody jumped on board to agree to hate it cause Singular Point came and now we're all supposed to be on board to like that alone, you can dislike New Empire but to try to convince us to hate it as well with no good reasons too is lacking any worth.
Point 2 is thanks to Toho and the constant rules/interfering they like to do with their IPs. Now retcons and contradictions are nothing new for the monsterverse but this is out of legendary hands. Point 1 however this is starting to get old and annoying. First the movies direction and tone is up to the director and Adam wanted a more showa era film but lets be honest its not that bad, its not like we have godzilla doing a little dance on the moon. The annoying part is the contsent need to compare this film to minus one like dude can we STOP doing that. Its was dumb when people started this nearly a year ago and its stupid now, Minus one and this film are very different and thats fine. Let them be different, we don't want/need every godzilla film to be like minus one and we don't want/need every godzilla film to be like Godzilla x Kong. The reason this franchise has lasted for so long is because it changes all the time. Can this argument be put to bed already is old and dumb
GxK is my least favorite movie in the series. I still like it but I vastly prefer the tone of king of the monsters. I like the darker more serious style that builds some anxiety. There was none of that in GxK at least from my perspective
yeah the reason gxk barely had any humans was because people complained "humans slow the pace, we want big monsters" so now people got big monsters and complain the movie isn't consistent with godzilla 2014 and kong skull island 2017. it was a double edged sword for everyone
Exactly there were complaints about people being too much in the movies so they concentrated on the monsters wanted more monster battles more monster aspects of the movie yeah maybe they should have added a more serious tone to it but I think it was pretty cool. Now they should have had more Godzilla in it but I liked it and I hope this next one with a new director will be more Godzilla oriented
My biggest problem with the film is that it feels like 2 movies fused into one Kong and Suko fighting Skar King sounds like the plot of a kong solo movie and Godzilla evolving to fight Shimo sounds like the plot of a Godzilla solo movie
FIRST
the new monsterverse movies are straight up slop
Canonically wise or theme wise? Love the new vid style btw! You should do more like this!
Is this the video in which you talk about why the CGI isn’t as great as the other monsterverse films?

How did it destroy the MV if it's the highest grossing film surpassing K:SI?
This makes no sense lol. Click bait at its finest.
Toho never said that, and these movies never established an "army of godzillas"

I’m with you my dude, this movie ruined the Monsterverse for me too
You can thank Toho for the inference with the lore
1:39 I agree with this, is not the same having a Godzilla with a clown face (yes, we have to admit that Godzilla Showa has a very goofy design) doing dropkicks and flying with his atomic breath, that having a Godzilla with a heavier and more "realistic" design doing similar stuff, it just doesn't fit…

Toho needs to shut up and bring back the #godzillaspecies
Toho needs to let the MV Godzilla be its own thing. Him as a species is more interesting and add so much more mystery and lore than him just bringing balance to nature. At least the sixth will have goji as the main character and it will have a more darker tone too

It has good ideas but executed poorly
Another proof that the Showa movies are NOT cinema.

I ain't remember when this released…

“Kawng”
Toho didn't retcon the species at all

It was mostly a Kong movie, it was really good imo 💯
My biggest problem with the film is that it feels like 2 movies fused into one Kong and Suko fighting Skar King sounds like the plot of a kong solo movie and Godzilla evolving to fight Shimo sounds like the plot of a Godzilla solo movie
